Hello, I am looking to buy a 1946 CJ2A jeep, the guy says it has a rear main leak. What would be involved in replacing the seal? Is it a difficult repair? Would I need to remove the trans?

When I installed mine I used a socket wrench over the nut on the outside and held the well nut body on the inside of the tank with my fingers, if everything is dry you can get it to tighten down like Dieselmister said i post #80

Nice snag! I have the exact unit in a 2009 model, I noticed your 2010 unit's S-1 switch is the round metal type, mine was the square blue one. Strange how they come out slightly different.
