Rear 5-Ton axle Interaxle Differential Loc (IAD)

Differential lockers! Now I think I’m with you. A lot of M809 and M939 series trucks used by the Marines IIRC had Detroit no spins in them. Also, M1500 Oshkosh crash truck. I believe Red Barn Customs sells Detroits, and spools.

Rear 5-Ton axle Interaxle Differential Loc (IAD)

I assume you’re talking about what most civilian truckers call a power divider? If so, I’m not very familiar with the older series trucks but don’t think they have one, same as the 8 & 9 series trucks.

    NDT, NDCC, and NATO NDT's

There were a bunch of Husky tires surplussed at the end of the GL days. The street tires where South African made NDT’s. If they are not still being auctioned, I’d bet the big surplus dealers still have a bunch lying around…

    M923a2 ctis issue

Yes, you have an air leak. The CTIS can’t tell how many PSI is in the tires if there is a leak before them.

    Haspin 2024

So far everyone’s getting along and playing nice together. I guess we stopped camping in the woods, so they stopped trying to eat in our campers! Well that and the garbage cans overflowith again…

Also if anyone else needs to know, cell service is decent, and much better than in the past. Also, public Wifi coming out of the office, password posted at the checkin desk.

    Haspin 2024

Are we there yet! Does anybody know if cell reception has gotten any better (or worse) in the last few years, mainly around the lake? My wife has a few internet meetings tomorrow, trying to figure out if she is going to have to drive back home for them…

Adding Primary mover PF-520 Hoist ( DUMP ) to my M35a2.

https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/m925-m925a2-dump-bed-hoist-install.164018/ Let me drop this here. The PH520 would have approximately 1/2 the power of my hoist with twin 5x20 cylinders, but I’m only running 2500psi and your bed is 2’ shorter. My overhang from pivot to the rear is 10”...

M923, long term storage, went to move.. THUMP, THUMP, THUMP on move.. WTF??

Worse, as in faster? Check the transmission to transfercase drive shaft. Also check for water and condition of fluid in both, especially the transfercase.

    Vehicle tie down

I would go no less than 1/4”. How thick are the weld caps for the d-rings? You want to be close to their thickness.

My M927 got me sad 😔😔😔

First thought is shift cable adjustment. Second, make sure button on transfer-case shifter is not stuck in, but don’t think no reverse is typical issue with that… everything getting fuzzy with old age.

    M989 vs M989a1

They are wagons with a tongue thats too short. Backing a truck on towbar is “easy” comparatively. Backing a wagon with a farm tractor is an art, (back in the day my dad made it look easy) backing one attached to the rear of a big truck is near impossible. Same as 98G mentioned, I can back a...

    Tire fail-- typical kind??

I was a tad heavier at 11 ton, at 60psi. Tread came apart in 2 big slabs and several small chunks. I drove a little over 1/2 mile down the road to get to a safe place to get off the hwy, maybe why the carcass looks so bad. Also, I was in the middle of changing the tire is why the two axle bolts...

    Tire fail-- typical kind??

How many tons of stone and what tire pressure were you running? I’m betting overheated tire, like this…

Does anyone know where i can get a solenoid shut off mounting bracket or part number for my M939A2?

Looks like G’s numbers are correct. Mine has 3912487 stamped in the bottom of it. Ebay has one listed for $64, but is either the wrong picture or part number. I make a lot of stuff but wouldn’t attempt this for less than the $145 G posted.

Does anyone know where i can get a solenoid shut off mounting bracket or part number for my M939A2?

I do have a spare that I would let go. Due to rules I don’t want to post a price here. If by chance you are coming to Findlay, I can bring it. PM me if interested…
