You could have a multitude of problems adding up to the big problems you have now. Once you rule out the air pack, check your brake cylinders. I went through similar problems with my brake system. After replacing the master cylinder, another air pack, replace the hoses and most of the rusted...
Are you going to combine this one to your current M816 to make one monster wrecker, or just make it a different build for recoveries and other things? Since I know you don't care for the M809 brakes, are you going to put S-cam brakes or swap the axles out of a M939?
The 5 brake hoses were purchased from Memphis Equipment. Really any vendor that sells the hoses are good for that. The Hard lines I bought from 2 places. Fedhill for the 1/4" copper/nickel lines, and the 5/16", and 3/8" steel lines I bought from Eastwood. The hard lines came in 20ft. and 30ft...
If you add a duece bed on the M818, you can remove the tire carrie/tool box and have plenty of room for the 12 ft. bed. If you keep the tire carrier/tool box, you might have to add a frame extension for the 12 ft. bed, or shorten the bed. If you look at the frame behind the rear wheels you'll...
This is how much room I'm working with. I think thats enough room to hang a tank about 29" long. Maybe a little shorter. I don't think with a tank hanging down would be an issue, because it would still be above the bottom of the fuel tank brackets.
I'll have to check a couple of big...
You know exactly what I was thinking. My cat walk is off the truck right now, but I have noticed the space in the frame on the passenger side. I was thinking of a frame mount that wouldn't hang off the cat walk, but the short wheel base of the M818 and the drive shaft on the driver side limits...
My truck is of the M809 series. It has 2 air tanks, but they are connected in way that the two tanks operate as one. There is a very large tube that connects the rear of both tanks. Now the horn has a 1/2" inlet, and an 8" diaphragm. It also operates in the psi range from 100-250psi, and I...
No, it uses all the wires on your alternator lead, or you can tape of the sensing wire. I was also told you can wire it up in a way that bypasses the PCB.
The name plate is painted over, but we think it's a Kahlenberg D3 naval horn. My Father told me it's a 5 mile horn. Meaning you can hear it clearly for 5 miles away on the Mississippi river. I like to think of it as a bad driver equalizer, and in and around the Memphis area one is needed!
Finally made some headway with my fuel tanks I got from Wes. I just picked them up from the weld shop and they fixed it up exactly the way I wanted them.
They welded some tabs on the tanks for attaching my vent tubes with p-clamps, and on one of the tanks they welded some threaded fuel bungs...
BatteryMinders is pretty good. They have some 24v models too. I know I can use my 12 volt version to charge/maintain and disulfate 2 group 8D's
I've thought about getting another and mount it on the truck over the batteries for maintaining them. Here's my 12v mounted in a small tool box for...
If you are looking for some exterior lamp mounts, I would suggest contacting member US6X4. He made me a set of ditch light mounts that bolt to bottom of the windshield hinges. I think the M934's use the same hinge so I think it would fit.
