All 5-tons: Heavy Duty Torque Rod Ends

If you have wheel hop, it is most likely caused by lack of balance in the wheel. When I bought my truck it had 14.00s on it and I added about half a gallon of anti-freeze to each tire to balance the wheel after driving from AL to MS with slight hopping. I never had any issues with wheel hop...

I saw that post on the other thread. To me the inside looks like sh!t, but to each his own. I am curious about the connection myself. I have made progress, I’ve just been too busy to post anything here or on YouTube. I’ve been focusing on the inside of the house since I got the the new shipping...

    Boost Pressure in M939A2?

Once I get my fuel delivery issue resolved I might try to see what my EGTs are, although I think I’ll most likely wait until after I get the water injection setup in place so that I don’t risk destroying this engine again. That way I can turn it on if it gets too hot

I already know about the chest freezer conversions, there just isn’t enough room for it. None of the house is going to be 12V. The only exception to the 120v is the 5v charger outlets.

Got some more accomplished, even though this is definitely not moving fast enough to make me happy. I got the second wall surrounding the refrigerator finished and added the frame for the overhead cabinet above it. The significant other is shorter than I am so after asking her where she wanted...

    Water/Methanol Injection Install

I’ve talked it through with snow performance and they have suggested a single 175ml pre-turbo and twin 225ml post-turbo. After a little thought I think I will reroute the air compressor inlet to the side of the intake tube that is hard mounted to the cab before it meets the first rubber...

    Boost Pressure in M939A2?

Crap, I forgot about that! Thanks for reminding me

    Water/Methanol Injection Install

Lmao yes it is running and the rebuild is finished. I’m just waiting on an electric fuel pump and a new fuel filter but that isn’t part of the rebuild. I’ve a couple videos where it is using boost pressure to drive injector pressure, but I vary well could have to use a pump, then I’ll just...

    Water/Methanol Injection Install

Ok, I thought I would start a thread for my water/methanol injection install on my non-aftercooled 6CTA8.3 now that I’m done with the rebuild and this doesn’t really fit in that thread. Thanks to a couple people I got the necessary info to get a good idea of the max size nozzle I needed for...

    Boost Pressure in M939A2?

I just sent an email to Snow Performance with some info looking for a better idea for nozzle selection, right now I’m thinking of a single 100-175ml nozzle for pre-turbo, and then twin 100 nozzles post-turbo.

    Boost Pressure in M939A2?

Thanks Wes! That is quite hot for EGTs, I’m hoping to keep mine maxed at 800-900, but we shall see what will happen. But at least with this info I can properly size my nozzles. It will still be a guessing game with nozzles to a degree since I’ll have two separate water circuits, but at least...

    Boost Pressure in M939A2?

Thanks! Any upgrades to the engine? Like new valve springs or head studs? Happen to know your EGTs when you run at 32# boost?

    Boost Pressure in M939A2?

Does anyone who has a boost gauge in their truck know what the peak boost pressure is? I need to know so that I can size the water/methanol injection nozzles properly. I cannot drive my truck until I get the w/m injection system in it since I built a replacement intake manifold and got rid of...

Pioche wouldn’t be that much extra of a drive considering I’m starting in AZ and driving to the northern end of NV. Thanks, I never did a proper build design beforehand in SketchUp but I have everything that I want in my head. Insulation will be the closed cell spray in insulation. I had tried...

    Overland 5-ton camper with a 20' container (now 40' !)

Mine is in a shipping container as well, and I’ll add a few extra square feet for the closet and bedroom above the cab and engine. If you are lucky enough to find an M1500 firetruck being parted out then you’d have the air lockers for the front. I’m going to use standard Detroit lockers in the...

Nomadic, if you don’t mind me askin...where in NV are you? I will be taking the truck up to Lovelock to see my brother and help him with his rebuild, thought I might stop by.

Yesterday I “rebuilt” the fuel lift pump on the side of the block. Unfortunately it doesn’t work any better than it did before, but I did finally figure out where I’m getting in the system. The fuel filter immediately below it seems to have a case that is separating at the crimp point. The last...

    Overland 5-ton camper with a 20' container (now 40' !)

I’m curious about the front suspension design your friend proposed. I guess that would really depend on how it was mounted. I’m still trying to figure out a way to bag the front suspension while at the same time giving the front a lot more wheel travel. I cannot guarantee that I’ll not be taking...

    Overland 5-ton camper with a 20' container (now 40' !)

I’m actually building one currently. Of course I’m working on the frame that mounts it to the truck at the same time that I’m building the house inside the container. https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?168248-M934a2-bhtrv

There will be windows, I just haven’t ordered them yet so I haven’t bothered with cutting the holes for them. Windows are an absolutely necessary thing, otherwise this would be one large faraday cage lol More work is completed, I just haven’t updated here. I will try to remember to update here...
