    M35A3 exhaust intake impeller *tink*

I don't know what it is, I merely surmised it might be an impeller, it sounds like it's coming from the very end bit of that tube. You can see from where it's located that it's not exactly easy to see into that little tube. Now that everything is hooked up, I could unhook a few parts, put a...

    M35A3 exhaust intake impeller *tink*

Is your pre-cleaner hooked to your exhaust stack? I could see how some intakes could be installed and not have this done. It sounds to me like the pre-cleaner has a small impeller in it that spins and sucks particles that then get sucked into the exiting exhaust gasses. The sound is coming...

Tire question about M105 tires and M35A2

As far as I can tell the general thought is to do whatever you want. Though, for what it's worth, the super singles, like the Michelin XZL or XL 15.5", are getting a little long in the tooth - new ones haven't come out of the military in years.

    M35A3 exhaust intake impeller *tink*

So...I put an A3 intake on my A2. The pre-cleaner is has an impeller (at least that's what it sounds like) and mine *tink* *tink* *tink*'s. When the truck has been running a while, it settles down a little but still *tink*'s a little. Is this normal? The sound is coming from #34 in the picture.

    Muddling through with gauges

Where's the fun in that? I am swapping out my stock gauges and adding additional ones, also, I'm redesigning the gauge panel as well as creating a secondary panel that will mount above the driver windshield (the cab has been modified to allow this). I'm not interested in keeping the truck...

    Muddling through with gauges

So, found a listing that stated - Oil pressure at idle: 10, oil pressure at full power (max): 75. The stock gauge on my rig has a range of 0 - 120. Where would the danger area be at? I'm looking at replacing this gauge...

    M35A3 dual fuel tank setup

I've looked at aircraft parts before, they tend to be super expensive because they're made for...aircraft. While I can appreciate a well made part, it's just more than I need and I don't need the added expense.

    Black Friday deal 11/24 - 12/4

I'm not in any way affiliated with PartDeal.com, but I have ordered some items from then before and they often have competitive prices. Typically, I check several sites before I buy and I encourage others to do the same. Their code for the next 10 days is "partdeal10" for 10% off any purchase...

overdrive of some sort for bobbed m35a2 deuce

I've put about 80 hours at ~60 mph on my deuce. Some people say to baby them, but I feel if it's made for it, to go for it. I don't get anywhere near the red line. I like being able to go 60, but honestly it sometimes takes an awful long time to get there and if there's a hill, well, I'm just...

Found a deuce multifuel engine at scrap auction

I know you mean well, but I believe it's against the forum rules to post links to upcoming auctions. Or has that been changed?

MRAP Rims on a Deuce bolt question

Fine thread. Fine thread is stronger, holds better. However, I could see someone here making a good argument for coarse thread as well as there are 10 bolts. I read a study, once that suggested in vibratory environments lock washers actually loosen faster, so don't use those. I didn't use...

    M35A2 Fab. Shop?

Spare engines aren't too hard to find. Or even non-running part trucks.

cost of ownership (the real cost of a deuce)

Just me, but I don't think of my deuce in monetary terms. If I did, I wouldn't own one.

    MRAP wheel re-painting

Well, if you strip off all the old paint, you could always anodize them. I don't have MRAP wheels, went a different direction. But, unless you're doing the paint yourself, anodize would be the next cheapest method of applying a coating of some sort (it's much cheaper than powder coating).

    New deuce owner seeking advice

Regroove tires take the bald tire and cuts deeper grooves into it. Retread takes a bald tire and adds rubber creating a new tread surface. Now, if you prefer to not have either of those, that's fine, but they are completely different processes and I'm not even splitting phone books here. All...

    New deuce owner seeking advice

I would like to point out that regrooved tires are not the same as recapped or retread, and that section specifically only mentions regrooved. In my talks with tire salespeople I don't believe they can be impartial since their job is to sell me tires. This article states that retreads are ok...

    Seat options for a Deuce?

I want to delete all but the driver's seat, but it bothers me a little not having any option for a possible passenger. I think I'm gonna go with https://www.suburbanseats.com/p/jump-seat-10-floor-mounted-flipup-seat It's just under 9" when the seat is up, 18" wide and just over 21" when the...

    DIY custom wheels??

I have researched wheels extensively. What are you trying to accomplish? I should note, my research was for wheels made by commercial manufacturers. I'll be blunt and say home made wheels are something you do for enemies. If you're talking about commercially available wheels, your biggest...

    New deuce owner seeking advice

The prohibition on retreads on the steers only applies to busses. See the link in my previous post. I know some tire places that won't put retreads on the steer wheels, but that's their policy not the law. I'm sure other places will mount them. I am almost certainly using retreads for my...
