As a noob to these trucks, let me state that this thread is totally confusing. Do I use rotella 15w40 or SAE30? I'm more confused now than when I started reading this thread.
MY EUC JUST CLEARED!
I feel so excited that I'm feeling a little nauseous. lol
The auction ended March 12.
EUC submitted to GL on March 13
EUC forwarded to Battle Creek on March 23
EUC approved on March 31
WOOT! WOOT!
No kidding. I thought my friends would be jealous of the deuce. It's 6x6, multi-fuel and can haul 10,000lbs. All they would say is "Why did you buy THAT?" and "Are you going to invade a small country?". I was thinking, why wouldn't you want one?
Bobbed deuces sell for a LOT more than the regular trucks. Around 2 or 3 times the price of a non-bobbed truck. If you want to save money, buy a regular one instead.
Good luck on your truck hunt. Finding the right one is part of the adventure. Be sure to post photos here when you get one.
I searched before posting. Guess my search-fu wasn't very strong.
I just want to stop some kid from jumping into it and driving over their friends. A starter cutoff is probably the best way to avoid this.
Will I need a special 24-volt keyed switch for this, or will a 12-volt switch work okay?
A keyed battery lockout was my first thought, but it seems these trucks can run without batteries. So if the truck were to roll fast enough down a hill, it would start anyways.
Is there any other method to disable these trucks?
Fuel pump cutoff is a great idea! The truck couldn't run without fuel. Would a 12-volt ignition work, or do I need to get something specifically for 24-volt? I've never owned a 24-volt vehicle before.
Edit: D'oh! Guess that won't work.
I recently purchased a deuce from GL, but haven't picked it up yet. Once it arrives, I'm a little concerned about theft. What do you do to secure an M35A2? I hear the government chains the steering wheels, but I'm not even sure how that works. Is it chained from the wheel to a bracket on the...
Just assume you are going to keep it. Looking at mine, I checked Boxes A and C. Under box A, I added "For Intended Use" and nothing below box C. The rest (B,D,E,F,G) have "Not Applicable".
