I'm can't find master cylinders for this trailer it has one for each axle . I put new shoes on the back axle and new wheel cylinders 2 inch . the trailer uses the same brake shoes ,wheel cylinders ,wheel seals , bearings, and brake drums as a 5 ton . but both master cylinders are leaking into...
I would like to see pictures of these trucks pulling fiffth wheel trailers . I pulled my m269 lowboy home from the scrap yard about 14,000 lb with my 53 GMC and it was a real slow trip on hills I was in low range . and in the book cross country is 17,000 and highway is 36,000 of course this was...
the lever operated pto may have been done away with and one that turns all the time put in because of the oil pump it pulls oil from the bottom of the transfer case and puts it in the pto . the pto has to turn to pump this oil . so with the old pto if you stoped the truck to use the winch ...
I bought a m816 for the rear winch and had plans to use the pto off the transfer case and found the same thing it turnes all the time . I had to buy a pto that shifts in or out from memphis .
Jim you need two 1/2 unions for nylon tubing the ones that thread on not the new push pull ones and some 1/2 nylon air brake tubing or replace the whole line with the same 1/2 nylon tubing that way it's all one piece . I also have a hose that came off a m211 it looks very good but it's 50...
I found a 1967 m131a5c 5000 gal fuel tanker it has been already set up to hual water .I will use it to water the grass and trees so I won't have to use city water with a pump load the tanker I should have less then $2000 in it .
I bought a 1954 m269 wrecker lowboy made by pressed steel car company that has a 4 digit serial number I had a bill of sale and had to get a bond when the county sheriff came out to check the numbers he told me that a trailer with the same serial number was stolen in california but the year and...
new brake parts are available and newer deuse tires and wheels fit I spent about $10,000 rebuilding my m211 over about 2 years and I now have 7000 miles on it .
I needed to get the radiator repaired in my m52a2 and it was to thin on the cores and the radiaror shop said I should look for a nother one because the cost of the new core was about $600 a new one will be about $1200
maybe you could try hooking a 3/8 chain to the wheel with a tire or not then hook the other end of the chain to the frame a least 6 feet a way from the wheel and use a load binder and get it tight like it is trying to turn the wheel and then hit the drum with a hammer it will shock the stuck...
Wade I made some stands that hold the m816 4 feet off the ground . so it's easy to work under it .I removed the rear winch ( the whole reason I bought a wrecker with out axles ) I have the winch mounted on the back of my m52a2 it works nice .I,m working on gin poles to use to swap the motor...
when rebuilding a m269 wrecker low boy I found out that the torque arm on a trailer is about 1 5/8 shorter then one from m52a2 . on the trailer the beam is round and on a truck it is more like I beam in shape . the ends are the same . I would pull the axle shaft out and check the splins that...
I have a tank heater on my m52a2 it is mounted to the frame on the passangers side and the coolant comes from the 1/4 inch drain plug and then it heats the coolant and pushes it up to one of the heater hoses it works very good . the lower the tank heater is mounted the better it works it needs a...
a Silverton Colorado would be a blast . the gravel road out of town is good for a ways is good for all vehicles .and some camping spots that will hold a group with large vehicles . from there there are lots of roads for smaller vehicles . for me it's not far and I would like to help make it...
for best resultes mount the heater on the frame and use the drain on the side of the block as the sourse of coolant . the coolant needs to flow to the heater then the heater can heat the coolant and push it up to one of the cab heater hoses . the key is getting the heater below the water...
