My understanding is that DOT 3 fluid can attract/trap moisture causing corrosion on the inside of the hard break lines hence a preference for DOT 5 fluid.
Thank you! I searched for HEMTT cargo covers. Based on pictures from Eastern Surplus’ website, it appears that I have the uprights and bows intended for a MK48.

@country thank you for the pictures!
I thought about cutting the uprights down to fit but figured I should try to identify them first. I didn’t want to cut something that may be useful to others (especially if it’s rare).
I was told that these uprights and bows were for a Deuce when I acquired them. But after trying them yesterday, I now think otherwise. What are these uprights and bows intended for?
The uprights are metal and measure 55” from the bottom to the bow. This causes the cargo cover to sit about 12”...
I’ve managed to go my whole life without a Deuce cargo cover and, somehow, I acquired two in the same week. I got the Deuce out today to test fit the covers. They both fit nicely, except that my uprights are about 12” too long.
So does this mean that my truck is a cross dresser?
Had to get the M936 out to jump start the Deuce. It’s just another reason why we collectors need to have more than one MV!
This job took every inch of my 20’ slave cable.
I’d alter course to get closer and check that rig out. Then, my rubber necking and staring at your rig would probably cause a wreck. Yup… it’s much safer for me to check out your pictures from the safety of my home. So, in the name of safety, keep posting pictures of that awesome truck!
I’ve tried to make it in the past, but work has always gotten in the way. I’d really like to attend this year and will do my best to schedule work around the rally dates. I’m keeping a keen eye on this discussion and will monitor as details firm up.
