Interesting thread! I know I'm reviving this but I've been curious about this, living in Fairbanks, Alaska...-40F in the winter at times.

Considering a M927 or M928 to live in...

Fascinating! Not sure how I missed that post until now, but good to know! I prefer one with singles, and would definitely take it off road somewhat, probably without the box in it, just for the fun of it, though I would guess it probably wouldn't to as well as, say, an M923 or M925, or even an...

    1983 M925 What rims should I get

Wow, interesting to know the M939 series trucks had NDTs before they had ABS retrofitted into them. Now, did the A2s always have singles? I thought I'd read ABS retrofits en masse started in 1999 into these, but that seems really late to me. Can somebody confirm? Also, come to think of it...

Auction date changes, MK48 and Hemtt recall

I don't really follow some of the politics of this too closely, but to me the idea of requiring something perfect working and usable to be "mutilated", in other words shredded/crushed/destroyed is ridiculous. Why not resell? I really don't understand the logic of it.

    1983 M925 What rims should I get

Wow, NDTs on an M939? That seems kinda unusual. Did they normally come like that back in the way early days of the M939 series? The ones I've seen that were duals always had GoodYear G177s.

Repowering Deuce with LDS and a Brownie box

"subscribed" LOL. I'm curious, I may be daily driving a Deuce as an only vehicle before much longer so these kind of upgrades intrigue me for sure.

    The VTCS m756a2 Pipeline Truck

Very nice, glad to see it put to work! I might be ending up with what's supposedly a '79 M35A2 with some M764 stuff on it this spring, might be a fun project.

Considering a M927 or M928 to live in...

Interesting thoughts! I've heard 7'4 in a couple places now for the Army 927 beds. Mine would most likely be an Army one, but who knows. Suggestions on which to get? (Army, Marines, etc)? Jbulach, if it's removable, maybe you WILL hear I'm daily driving the 927/928 to school! :driver:

Considering a M927 or M928 to live in...

Srodocker, just curious, where in California? (I'm from CA originally) Jbulach, would you be making the conversion somewhat permanent and ditching the bed entirely? I'm glad to know someone with similar ideas to mine, if you want to keep in touch feel free to PM me. I'm thinking ISO long...

Considering a M927 or M928 to live in...

@Jbulach, Neat idea! I ideally don't want my conversion making the truck any longer than it would be with the stock bed, but will do whatever works. Think you'd get something like a M146 trailer, or just a civilian R/V box? And yeah, don't tempt me...I'm the kind of person who would do...
