I have a good take off relay lever as well as the pitman arm and both drag links that are attached to them, both came off an M54 I had and parted out.
PM me if you are interested.
He called me last night asking about proper torque specs for 5 ton wheel bearings, maybe brake/bearing problems on the 818?
just speculating.
Once again,I am gonna miss out on this,I actually had my WW2 uniform laid out for the trip, but work demands I be here.
Big changes are happening along...
I replaced the speedometer adapter on the M51A1 as well as both poppets for the winch drum and cable tensioner locks.
Then I took it out for a drive to check the speedometer, now it makes it all the way to 52 mph instead of stopping at 32 mph.
I also installed 2 new wiper arms and blades and...
I know this will sound odd,but I had the same problems with my Goat, and did exactly as Gamagoat1 has described to the rear differential, even replaced the front spring as you did, nothing helped at all.
What eventually did fix the problem was to align the front end(camber, caster and toe in) then...
Well,I know when I am licked:shrugs:
While doing my extensive checkout before I hit the road,I found that the #2 U joint on the main driveshaft to the rear axle was out, while removing said shaft for a quick replacement,I found the transfer case rear output shaft bearings were out as well...
If all holds as is,I should be headed that way between 0930 and 1030 hrs, crack of dawn departure impossible at this point(16 hr days).
I should arrive between 1430 and 1530 hrs, give or take a few minutes.
I have most everything loaded,I have to grease the M62A1 and M322 tomorrow as well as replace the front cab mount rubber cushions.
I hope to leave out here at around 0730 or 0800 Wed morning.
At this point,I think the whole combo grosses about 53,000 lbs!
I guess Ron didn't drive the 819 this year?
I am bringing the M62A1 wrecker, towing the M322 LT equipment trailer to be picked up at the rally,I am probably pulling out Friday morning headed back home though,1 more move to do this coming weekend.
Correct turbo for an early ENDT 673 Mack for the M39 series truck, updated version(different bearings),hence the A designation after the Mack part # 631GC559
It may also fit an early LDS 427 multifuel,I cannot remember if they run a wastegate or not.
I have worked on the M62A1 quite a bit this week to get it ready for the trip to Georgia on the 19th,( last time the wrecker left the yard was 2 years ago !).
Just minor stuff, replacing flex lines, changing oil and filters etc. I have a few tires to swap before the trip as well.
Ok folks,
It looks as if the M62A1 wrecker will be making it's first rally appearance,as I have to deliver a M322 LT trailer there for pickup.
13 days to get it ready!
I love pressure.
