new from GA
I am in GA too and have not been into MV for long, but I am into it in a big way.
I hope to start making it to some MVPA meetings soon and will for sure make the next rally and maybe even a few others states rallies.

I think that the Deuce is an excellent idea for you.
It is a very heavy duty rig that can be had for a fraction of the cost of lesser civilian vehicles. It should be very cheap to maintain as parts are super cheap and plentiful. I would just buy another truck and have a spare of...
Come down and see me in Ringgold. I have a bunch of trucks and trailers here we all got from GL. We drove one home last night from Hunstville.
I have a 25' gooseneck that I usually bring them home with. I might be able to help you out, depending upon where it is.

I have not set up a website for the military surplus business yet. I just got started in it recently. TaylorTradingCo is my user iD on here and I do have a website www.TaylorTradingCo.com for my tool company. You can e-mail me directly at Derek@TaylorTradingCo.com.
I only carry M35A2 and...
I like to ride both sides of the fence. Of the four that I plan to keep, two will be left completely original, one will be bobbed for playing in the woods and another (M36A2) will be used for work. Come to think of it, I guess three of them will be left alone.

Well spoken
I know exactly what you mean. I got into gun collecting years ago when I found some WWII S&W 38 revolvers were being surplused for $80 each. At the time they flooded the market and you couldn't hardly give one away, but now they go for the hundreds of dollars they should as true...
Congrats
I would agree that you can never have too many and should bid low on them all. If you get some you don't want, then that makes for good trading material or spare parts.
I am glad that your truck turned out okay without viewing it. I wish more of mine had.
Derek Taylor
Yes, GL will let you drive them off. I will be picking up one in Hunstville on Monday and we plan to drive it home and tow a trailer behind it too. We checked it out while we were there last week and made sure it cranked and that the brakes and lights and stuff worked.
The GL descriptions...
Is anyone going to be going to the Hattiesburg, MS site soon? I just bought 5 trucks there and it would be helpful in my trip plans to know how many, if any of them will run.

Roll Tide Too!
I can help you out with your questions.
I have bought from GL in Gadsden, Cullman and a lot from Redstone up in Hunstville. I was in Redstone this week and the guys there told me to be careful about the trucks because a lot of them were coming up out of Florida and they were...
motor swap
I stick strictly to Deuces so I know very little about the 5 ton motors.
According to some of the stat sheets I have seen there is very little difference in HP between the two, but I have heard that the bigger ones have more torque.
I saw a 5 ton motor listed on auction one time...
Is there anyone out there near Hattiesburg, MS who could let some Deuces park for a while? I just bought five today, but I am about eight hours away. I may need to get them offsite before I have time to get them all home, so it might be helpful to have a place I could ferry them offbase to and...
One more thought
Just a thought, but rather than towing it, what if you made some ramps and drove it up in the bed? I have heard of some guys on here talk about hauling a vehicle in the bed. It is certainly strong enough and probably big enough, just high off the ground.
Derek Taylor
Thanks.
I was thinking about getting one to use to make deliveries with. With a 17' bed and removable sides you should be able to carry eight pallets worth of material on it.
The reason I am thinking of doing this is because of the treads about being able to run used motor oil and...
I am looking at getting a M36A2 and have a few questions about it. From the pictures I have seen it looks like the bed side comes off on one side. Is that correct? It does not look like my dropside M35A2C having hinges and swinging down. How does it come off or move? Does only one side do...
Is this what everyone else's ladders look like?
I found this light weight aluminum ladder in the back of one of the Deuces I bought. I love it! It just hangs on either the side or the back.
Most of the other ladders I have seen referred to have been steps for the vans.
No, it is not for...
Many thanks...
I knew you guys would have a quick answer for me. The entire dash had already been strippd out of this thing before I got to it. I just assumed that they took the air switch too. I have 8 others that all have the air shifter thing, so I just assumed they were all the same. I...
I pulled the following stuff out from under the seat of a couple of trucks and of course the antenna from the outside. All of the cables have the ends on them.
What is this stuff worth? Can you get radios that are military style?
