If you have a CNC mill, could you make 2 or 3 piece wheels and just bypass the adapter plate altogether? Forgive my ignorance on CNC, but I'm looking at custom wheels because adapter plates come with issues.
So, I'm bumping my thread because I found a good source for 445 tires, and thought in case anyone else is thinking of going this route...
So, it seems that Bridgestone now makes the XZL equivalent (L315), best price I could find was $870 + $100/shipping. But looking around I found this...
If you do decide to go the adapter plate route, check out Tri State Fasteners when you're shopping for nuts/bolts. I got my bolts from them and they were the least expensive, and they gave a further discount because I bought more than 50 and even shipping all the way across the country they were...
Maybe use a better term here, in the future...
Also, if you search in evil-bay for "mrap adapter plates" you'll see some for ~$100 each. You're not likely to find less than this price.
Well, that was informative. So, Boyce doesn't do 22.5, but they referred me to a company in eastern Washington (Kennewick) that will do the larger wheels, plus they're close enough (300 miles) for me to pick up. A 22.5x14 (steel only), for the deuce is $570, painted & 2 weeks to make. Powder...
So, this is kind of experimental at this point. I currently have adapter plates on MRAP wheels (super singles). Which work fine, but no tire place will touch them. I've been thinking of getting a wheel specifically fit for the deuce. Now, I know there is a shop in the US (somewhere in the...
As it stands now, I'm not worried at all. I think the most likely scenario is a drunk ex-miltary who decides to go for a joy ride (I chain the steering). I'm just thinking about the future. Eventually, I hope to have some stuff in the cab worth stealing. I've also dumped a lot of money in...
So, there's a thread on this. But I have State Farm on mine, it's listed with them as a collector vehicle, and as long as I drive it less than 6k miles a year it's like $40/mo (bundled with my other cars). That's just for liability. At a certain point, I want to insure it against theft, not...
If you decide to go with 395's there are also a few different wheel types available. Really, it mostly depends on your budget. Adapter plates have gotten difficult & expensive enough, lately (actually I went on evil bay just now and they're about $100/ea), that going with a wheel might be the...
Thanks.
I'm busy this week, but I'll dig into it Sunday. Just have to run through potential solutions until something works. It's not the same problem he was having, though. It's not starved for power, it even seems to have a bit more...but that might be because the leak is gone. I drove...
