Brake system Work, what to look for?

I don't know enough about your truck, and I don't know if it's a mistake (or my ignorance to ask), but should you be posting in the Korean War - The Early Deuce forum instead?

    MRAP Adapter Plates for M35A2

I bought the hardware the seller (at the time) recommended. It was pretty high grade stuff, but since it was my life I figured it was worth the cost. It pays to hunt around - I got the bolts from an outfit in MA called Tri-State Fasteners (their prices were the lowest then I got a volume...

    Sound Insulation

Yeah, I'm doing dynamat everywhere in the cab. inside the lower part of the doors and on the rest of virtually every inside surface except the dash console (I'll remove and do the wall behind it) and the windows. Though I did read that acrylic is better at sound insulation than glass and I'm...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Well, it's certainly a sleeker look. Functionally, they're mostly a wash for me. I did it for the looks really. I don't find one any easier than the other, just different. Suppose you could make the argument that at least at night you can tell where the lights are w/out having to use a flash...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Added some bling. The shift boot I saw in this thread a few months back and the light switch I found when I was perusing old threads for things to do.

    MRAP Adapter Plates for M35A2

Saw a set of 6 plates on evil bay today, but at double the price they usually go for. Keep in mind, the hardware connecting the adapter plates to the mrap wheels is another couple of hundred. Unless you got the wheels for free, maybe just spend a little more and buy 6 lug wheels.

    Sound Insulation

Just an update. I started putting dynamat in the cab. I also did a frequency measurement in the cab with the engine running. The two highest peaks were at 38Hz and 75Hz with a lesser peak at 115Hz. The more I look into sound insulation, there's really a great deal out there (especially when...

    M35 Turbocharger

Not anything that you would notice. I think I read that the D turbo adds 2 more h.p. and brings it to 129 h.p. However I wonder how much horse these trucks have lost over the years. The turbo was added for emissions. Performance is not really something that belongs in any sentence with these...

    S-280 shelter mounting

I know the military can go crazy when it comes to manuals. Do you have TB 43-0124? It's a technical bulletin. It appeared to have more information about part listings, maybe other sources listed for you to check.

    Is an M548 Really Amphibious?

Found this, at about 1:15 it appears to go fully amphibious, also around 2 minutes in as well: I mean, it's not exactly the same thing, but it's derived from a 548, maybe check out what the company that makes them did, and you might find the difference...

    S-280 shelter mounting

Are you referring to the tie down plate?

    Over heating

160 is not too hot I don't think, in fact I read an old thread the other day where most people said theirs ran around this temp. Mine runs around 160 when I'm driving around town. On the highway it'll be around 175. When climbing a mountain pass it got to around 190'ish, just below the 200...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

New mud flaps. Got inspired when I saw someone's truck earlier in the thread. My mud flaps were only 1 foot long and I knew that was too short in any state. Mud flaps are dirt cheap (as you'd expect) except for the 20 inch variety which are stupid expensive. So, I bought a pair of 24x24x3/8...

    M109A3 - Combat Camper Build

So, did you ever accomplish your pass through? I'm installing a a roll up door for mine, but haven't decided how to seal up the back of the cab to the truck bed. I'm thinking something on tracks as I need it to take off and put back.

PROBLEMS with New basic Hard Top Overhead Console for M35 military vehicles from TMG

I posted earlier in this thread that I also had a problem with your company, and that I sent an e-mail asking my order be changed within 10 minutes of placing my order. The order and request took place on a weekend at like 2 a.m., so it's not like it got fulfilled immediately. Someone had to...

    Aftermarket gauges

That's very similar to the gas gauge I use now, a yard stick that is stuck behind the seats.

My Little Black Truck (Deuce ****)

I like the gun storage bit. I want to carry a musket (brown bess long land pattern) and I think it would fit this way.

    Sound Insulation

That could be a consideration. I do have plans on a custom paint job down the road...dazzle camo.

    Aftermarket gauges

Can anyone recommend a line of gauges that closely match our dash gauges? I'm replacing them because I want them to be lighted and some of the solutions I've read about don't appeal to me. Also, I'm about doubling the number of gauges and thought it would just be easier with all new. While I...

    Sound Insulation

So, I got the actual hood liner material up: As you can see, I got pretty good coverage and after doing the same decibel test I get 101 outside, 10 feet in front of the engine and 105 decibels from inside the cab, at idle... So, a little disappointing. In a way, it's not surprising. After...
