Well, I had a good lead on another M37 truck and drove over to meet the seller. WOW, his idea of a clean, solid, good running truck and mine are way different. What a piece of crap it was. Then he was offended when he asked what I thought the value was and I told him nothing over $1000. He was...
The MV show was rolled into the main classic vehicle show. There is a historic vehicle class in the show that encompasses the Military vehicles now.
APPLE & BBQ COOK-OFF FESTIVAL - Silver Lake Sand Dunes Area
Sorry guys but I will not be making it over this year. I have a family wedding in Ohio I have to attend. (Damn relatives not scheduling their wedding around my od green actives) Anyway make sure someone takes lots of pics and puts them up. Also if anyone needs decals, just let me know and...
Thanks,
Here is a pic I have used before as referances when making decal set for members. The mighty mites are marked as 1st Batt. / 9th Reg. 3rd Marine Division, and the deuce looks to be marked as C company of a Maintenace reg. 3rd Marine Division.
He should have looked here, index it would have saved him $75 on the stencil kit.
And yes, it does make a difference in the final coloring with Gillespie #24087 as to what primer you use. The dark red primer that Gillespie sells gives a much darker color than regular automotive red...
There should only be one positive cable, as the batteries are wired in serise, not parrallel. + cable should go to + on one battery. The - on that bat. should then go to the + on the next bat. The - on the second bat. goes to the - cable. The extra + cable is most likely coming from the slave...
The exhaust runs like that because it's a non turbo truck. They originally ran to a muffler behind the battery compartment. Once they went to the turbos, they went straight to the stack.
Glad to meet you today when you stopped in the shop. I hope you had a good time wondering around looking at my trucks. The deuce ride I gave you should help give the proper motivation to get your new deuce up and running quickly. Like I said, if you need anything just give me a call and I'll...
Yes, I'm the other member who does markings for vehicles. My site is index
Here is a nice referance pic of 1/9 marine trucks in country. The deuce appears to have be from a maintenance company, but the Mighty Mites show the 1/9 on thier markings. From what research I've gathered, the deuces...
I know there is a napa part number for the brake light switch, I just can't think of it right off the top of my head right now. You might want to ask over at the M715 Zone - Powered by vBulletin as someone will know the number right away. They also have the manual posted over there.
The Silver Lake Apple & BBQ festival vehicle show is on sat. Sept. 12th. The military vehicle classes have been rolled into the main vehicle show to make one big vehicle show instead of the 3 sperate smaller ones at the festival. If I'm not down at the MVPA show I'll be around that weekend.
I saw a posting on this on another forum I'm on and would be very interested in bring my stuff down. I have a 53 M37, 67 M715 and a 67' M35 all done in Vietnam era colors and markings. I also have several period correct uniforms and items that i can bring. PM me and I'll get you some contact...
Just a friendly reminder that I'm still making the marking kits for the trucks in both decal sets and paint mask sets. I have kits for US ARMY, MARINES, and US NAVY Seabees.
US ARMY M37/M715, decal set = $50 shipped, paint mask set = $75 shipped
MARINES M37/M715, decal set = $25 shipped...
Yep, he is a member here, but I have not seen him post in a while. He goes by knattrass. I talked with him frequently when I was restoring my M37 last winter. He parked at Clare right next to where I had my decal stuff set up. Lane, he didn't get there until later on Sat. and I think you...
Actually it only means that it was the 4th truck accepted for the fiscal year 1969 in the 05 catagorey. That would make it most likely a very low serial #, but not 004.
Yep, three of the trucks at Applefest were mine. You've probably seen my trucks sitting out at my shop (David Allen Racing) quite often as I drive them to work all the time.
