    Led light's installed for now

That grill was usually the electric horn.

    Hello from a Yankee transplant-to-be!

Welcome aboard friend. Better pack some cold weather gear, global warming is kicking TX behind.

Sometimes you just have to earn experience.

    Cucv question

Yours is not Canadian, data plate says US Property right on it. I think the Canadian versions are from the 70s. Your 44 looks like it's been there for quite some time. Wondering of you don't have a military cab on a civilian frame? GM stopped using the dana 44 during the 77 model year...

    Cucv question

Somebody swapped it. All of the American CUCV pickups had the 60F. I have seen some of the Spicer external hubs bring good money on eBay.

    Another M1010 owner

Detail is amazing as is the wood finishing. I need to go back thru the thread and look for the aluminum extrusions you used. Those are darn nice.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Perhaps paint your side black and leave her side as is. Nobody can see both sides at the same time anyways. Red River Parts was selling these on eBay for $30 plus the ride. I bought one for my dump and one for my son's fueler. They are new in the box.

Just spitballing...winching out your own deuce while alone.

I might have read that in TM 9-8022. I tend to read alot of the older TMs.

Steel Soldiers MV of the month February 2021 VOTE HERE

A little more info. Purpose built CUCV. Has been converted to a dually with a cab and chassis rear. Tires are tucked, not sticking out. Has a slide out work bench with a yost vice as well as a tailgate vice. It's been called the NAPA truck at the GA Rally. Completely stocked with GR8...

Just spitballing...winching out your own deuce while alone.

Here is another worthy TM that every winch owner should have. FM 20-22. Heck, every offroader too. https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/towing-rigging-misc-tms.122714/

Just spitballing...winching out your own deuce while alone.

It's close enough. Wraps left on the drum, tire size etc will have an effect although negligible.

Just spitballing...winching out your own deuce while alone.

Another interesting design with the deuce winch. If the PTO is in low gear and the truck trans and transfer case are in low, the winch speed equals the truck speed. Pretty neat.

    Winch install

It does. It's in remarkable condition. Sidewinders are either feast or famine. Usually they sell for either pennies or big dollars. Mine was under $200. One day I'll go ahead and install it. Would like to see what it would cost me to switch it all over to 24V. It came without cable but I...

    Winch install

Somewhere in my basement, I have a Hickey Sidewinder winch. They are antique but ideal for the hidden mount under the radiator.

    What model is this?

Check out this post. Search up the M51A2. If it has your VIN, and likely does, might give you a better indication of what you have.

    Winch install

This one is far and away, the cleanest install I've seen. https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/cucv-build-here-we-go-again.27571/post-770539

    m54 5 ton gas - Zenith Carb Question? TM's?

TM9-8028 has some adjustment procedures but my June 1955 copy only covers the Holley 885 JJSG. I also checked TM 9-2320-211-20 (June 1973 version). It also has carb adjustment procedures but it doesn't say which carb it was referring to. Both of these are hard copy manuals. The -20 1973...

5 ton recovery, happy as a fat kid with a donut.....

Great therapy Ken. Hey, weren't you working offshore before all the catharsis hit the fan?

    5 ton light bar examples

Whelen Pioneers were out there too. While not exactly a light bar, they really are quite a light as is reflected in their price. I've been holding on to one pair.
