Thank you Bulldogger for the write up. Glad to here you got the bad ones swapped out. Run out there in your PJ's tonite and test them.
That would be a sight to see... LOL, CAMO Camoteksystems.com
In military service and the deaths with little explanation, failed maintenance and training...etc. Lot of money going to the HMMWV fleet to make it safe. Story is a repeat from 5 months ago. First time for me. I found it here >
Nothing said about surplus sales... But some company got a...
Exactly to my post above. One of our options is a "set it and forget it" to the cumbersome operation and those a bit forgetful when fumbling with the HumV lighting switch. Yes... we all have done it... well I haven't LOL. User selectable. No messing, cutting and having to crack open the...
I second that... and have had a couple rebuilt. Won't be cheap...BUT IT WILL BE RIGHT. $100 per hour plus parts. Turn around times are quick.
Easy to talk to, too. Ask for Bruce on the counter. PH 559-782-5800 Over a hundred plus years of experience and all the test stands for calibration...
CAMO on the hi dive into hot water... The temperature guage to test tracking works out to...
OPEN circuit = no reading
Short circuit = full scale
120 degrees =2250 ohms
160 " = 1700 ohms
200 " = 890 ohms
240 " = 640 ohms
This data is useful to check the guage...
Here's an interesting option after your smart box takes a dump. Order the Camoteksystems manual "glow and GO" to fix the box, add option "RLO" Run Light Option. User selectable. NO hack, No rewire, NO trying to crack open your nice light switch.
And No ticket, unless you're speeding, CAMO...
And when it does not drain out and collects to the front... Rusts out your injector pump advance piston lever and who wants that?
Seen time and time again right here on channel SS, CAMO
That may be true, a couple pound one way or another no big deal.
My post is for DIYer's and hobbyist a quick & simple check of the electrical components to determine...
Is the gauge working correctly ??? By using a fixed known value resistor. (calibration/reference 20 Ohms = 60 PSI for the 0...
Here's a Camoteksystems test for the oil gauge. The range of the sender is 0 ohms for 0 pressure. Open circuit to sender... off the chart.
Sender resistance chart tracks really close to a good gauge. HMMVW 0-120 PSI gauge & matching sender components.
30 psi = 10 Ohms
60 psi = 20 Ohms...
Pictures worth a 1000 words. Here's what could happen (not saying this threads issue just note) BUT not disconnecting batteries and a little slip could be a 1000 dollar boo BOO not to mention toasting the electronics in the smart box.
OooPs... Both pins "G" and "F" are always HOT with the...
TM = Technical Manual. The one the dealer left out of the glove box. rofl
Here's another free / guess / tip. IF for some reason the batteries were NOT disconnected when installing the connectors and the ENGINE connector just happen to go on OK first... PIN F is NOW HOT on the CABIN connector...
