It's your dog and you can whup it any way you want to.
I'd think you could take it to any good muffler shop and they could do it back to stock or do a custom mod if that's what you want.
With a gasser I'd consider something that would give it a mellow growl rather than a loud tone.
I bought a M923A2 and Goobement Liquidation had destroyed the brake cans on the rear axle.
I swapped an axle out of another A2 and since the CTIS in my truck was FUBAR I didn't hook the lines back up.
I bought some fittings at a hydraulics store and sealed the rear axle off. You have to plug the...
One thing you didn't mention was load. An empty truck has almost no traction when you get in deep do do.
I keep a big pile of gravel in the yard in case I have to drive on snow (not very likely in AL but it did happen in 2013).
It is amazing what a difference a few thousand pounds of ballast in...
Let me throw this in just for S&G's. Camp Shelby was a rebuild facility for military trucks for a long time. When I started going down there in 95 they were still rebuilding the 800 series trucks and I drooled over the lots around post brimming with trucks awaiting rebuild or scrapping for...
You will never have issues with the older military trailers as those are the ones the M275 were set up to pull.
I have seen civilian trucks hook to the older military trailers and not be able to turn due to the king pin setback.
The M275 has the standard small fifth wheel. It will pull all of the older trailers and most of the new ones. You can pull a straight air brake trailer as long as you don't pump the brakes a lot.
And yes, I do have a very nice M275 that needs rehoming to help me finance my movie.
One of the...
When I put air ride seats in my last M915 I tapped into the airline that went to the airhorn.
Not sure if that will work in your case but there should be one under the cab you can access.
I have all the stuff I stripped off the M927 except the PTO itself. The guy that bought the transmission still was supposed to bring it back. I need to call him if someone is interested in what is left.
If you can't get it to build air the two alternatives are flat towing it to a place where you can work on it or a RGN trailer. They are too tall for a step deck (ask M920).
I flat towed one for a fellow member with my M927A2 with the air lines hooked up between them for braking.
It was still a...
I got a couple of rolls so I should prob put some on the vehicles around here just to protect myself from the bastage lawyers.
Pretty much negates the cammo though.
Back in the day we would pour in a can (yes it came in cans) of automatic transmission fluid about every fourth tank full to lube the injectors. Now I use the Power Service since I don't fill the tank very often. Seems to work pretty good.
You can load it like a rented mule depending on conditions and where you are operating. If you get into a serious accident and the officials think you are overloaded they can take the truck to a commercial scale (if no state scale are nearby) and weigh it.
There are too many lawyers in the...
I took the above advice. Put on the helmet with a miner's light attached. Attempted to check the moisture level in the Boss Lady's primary gearbox. She said no way am I getting in bed with that helmet on. Go figure.:shrugs:
