If you take a look at the rear suspension setup, you will see what they are talking about. Has a walking beam type of setup. Needs to be converted to a traditional leaf spring and shackle. Typically they shift the axle to line up with the new bed they use, usually off an m105 trailer.
My 5 ton has the multifuel and it has a big yellow sticker on one of the fuel filters stating something about "diesel only, fdc has been bypassed". Some brakleen took some of the wording off so you can't read it, or I would have gotten you a picture.
Nice! I did a parade last week, but the generator for the lights quit just as we started moving out of the staging area. What are you using as a power source?
My understanding is that you can't put m51 sheetmetAL on an m817 because the engine is longer. Unless, I suppose, if they also swapped in the multifuel.
I got a chance to go down yesterday. Due to weather and other complications, I wasn't able to take my truck, but I did get to meet some nice folks. Had a good time. Got to tag along on a trail ride. I was impressed with what it could do. Thanks to everyone for making me feel welcome. Hope...
I agree. Looks like what I just took out of my m51. I found a combination of water, algea, and the oil I had tried to run (its the multifuel) mixed in with the diesel. I drained the tank, tried to rinse with some fresh fuel, and replaced all the filters. Only running diesel from here out.
Mine(52 mack m51a2) was having trouble maintaining over 40 mph, then started to cut out on takeoff. Found water in the system. Draining tanks and swapping filters should hopefully do the trick.
