I use Amsoil Diesel Cetane Boost and their combo Diesel Injector Clean + Cold Flow. It's starting to get down into the 30's around here, so the Cold Flow is cheap insurance. Of course, I guess in the multi-fuel I could pretty much throw any thing petroleum based in the tank...
I spent most of today running to various auto parts stores and looking at their "loaner" steering wheel pullers before finally throwing in the towel and going to my local Chi-Com Harbor Freight store and purchasing one of their fine, carcinogen chromium plated 8" pullers. The 20% off coupon...
BTW, today I changed the 50 year old cracked and brittle steering wheel on my Bentley Continental, having to knock all of the plastic off of the metal steering wheel frame to get my improvised Harbor Freight puller to pop it off. For a $200K British supercar, I would have thought that it would...
Other than by what the ORIGINAL dataplate might say, the only true way to tell the difference between an M109 and an M185 is by the number of large electrical connection(s) on the upper portion of the van box on the passenger side of the vehicle (that is UNLESS one or both have been removed)...
Thanks to everyone for the info. Both of my wheels are in pretty bad shaped, which means that they must have been parked with the cabs in direct sunlight most of the time. Surprisingly, the '86 M934 is in just as bad shape as the '66 M185A3. Thanks again...
Any secret to installing a new steering wheel on a '66 Deuce other than getting a puller, removing the old wheel, greasing up the splines of the new wheel and slipping/tapping it on?
Thanks...
I installed one of the keyed ignitions that are available from several sources on my M934 5-ton and I'm wondering if it's possible to install one on an early model Deuce? The keyed switch comes with 3 wires and feeling around under the dash it feels like the old push button switch has 2 wires...
FINALLY got the transmission and transfer case fluid changes on my M934 completed after meeting my friendly NAPA man this AM and exchanging the bucket of transmission fluid for gear oil. Fired her up, worked through the gears a few times, added 1 quart to bring it up to spec and took off to get...
I knew things were going way too well today. I got the transmission and secondary filter on the M934 drained and refilled with NAPA HD tractor hydraulic/transmission fluid and the transfer case drained, all with little mess no less.
I then grab the 5 gallon pail of what's supposed to be NAPA...
I didn't get around to changing the transmission and transfer case fluids on my M934 today as I had planned due to some permit drawings that I needed to finish (OK, I LIED, IT'S TOO **** COLD & WINDY OUT!) but tomorrow is another day and another chance to procrastinate!. I did fire the beast up...
I'll second that. TMG's have good products, fair prices and great service. I purchased one of their tan locking fuel caps for my M934 and it works perfectly. Now I only wish that they'd come up with one for my Deuce...
I can't take credit for it, someone else on the forum, whose name I've forgotten, turned me on to it probably a year or so ago. It's got a little "gate", like a 4 speed shifter that only has 1st & 4th. Move it one way and down and it opens (or vice versa) and move it 90 degrees the other way and...
Two Down...
I'm on a winning streak! Christmas afternoon I installed a Westfolk spin-on, dual fuel filter assembly and this morning, shortly after the storm hit TX of course, I replaced the OEM engine oil drain plug on my M934 with a nifty little Jap oil drain valve:
Then, with the nasty...
Best videography that I've ever seen from the inside of a rolling MV but "Fluffy" sure didn't leave much room in the bike lane for the spandex-clad crowd to transit (too ******* bad IMHO!!!)...
That's what I understand, after having viewed the Youtube video at www.youtube.com/watch?v=B3ccBMMyNuA. HOPEFULLY this won't ignite the whole oil vs. transmission fluid debate all over again, which is like arguing over which are better, true redheads or true blondes.
While Allison is more than...
Yesterday I got a Westfolk dual spin-on fuel filter assembly installed on my M934. Filled the new filters with fuel prior to installation and she fired right up without any "air-in-the-line" issues.
I also installed a NAPA coolant filter assembly but didn't plumb it in yet. I've got to...
And that's why I call ALL the tax office types "wingnuts". There's not a thimble full of intelligence among all of them, even when they've got a computer in front of them telling them what to do. You can't fire 'em and you can't, uh, guess I can't say that any longer since the "Patriot Act"...
