Essential Tools to have for an FMTV? Add your .02

I use the same precision instruments torque wrench. I get your point, but there is no reasonable solution other than a torque wrench. It's not like we have sonic strain guages or are going to use dial indicators to measure bolt stretch. When I was an aircraft mechanic we used torque wrenches so...

Jack eldorado, between Placerville and Plymouth I used to go Wheeling at Prairie City way back in the day probably 30 years ago I think my old truck still has mud and it from there that stuff sticks like Snot/ glue:doh:

    Currently Running on MEP Power

What transfer switch are you using to hook up to power the entire house? What I've talked to a local electrician they gave me some ridiculous price for a whole house transfer switch or they try to sell me an entire Generac system. I don't have the military generator I have a whisperwatt 25. I...

When you buy a torque multiplier be aware that you may have to modify one of the cheap ones to work well. I bought one like this off eBay and it's difficult to get deep into the rear wheels and it doesn't want to get the foot down in between the lug nut. Grinding the foot to fit better might be...

It's a shame, it's a really nice tool (self admitted tool whore) and mine is in great shape, just no good for 5 ton lugnuts.

I would say definitely go with the air impact and don't bother with the 24 volt, at least if your plan is to use them on your lug nuts. I have a 24-volt Robo impact and it didn't have enough power to remove the Lugnuts I wound up going to Harbor Freight and getting a 3/4 drive set. That are...

Nice! I think I've actually heard the name, would have been pretty cool if I knew him but I've met a few. I only know one guy by name and now he actually works for El Dorado County Sheriff

I'm loving the fun campaigning, quite honestly in this field there are a couple that would be vying for my vote if I didn't enter my truck. If I get a vote or 2 besides my own I'll be jazzed... maybe this will sway someone, I'm doing my work by myself without heavy equipment, the ancient...

I know I'm swimming against the current here, but I gotta try! I don't have kids, but on my first trip to home depot I let a father son team climb all over her, got quite the big grin from both of them! Pretty much every trip to the filling station, etc. goes this way which is cool by me. The...

So here is how the truck currently sits in my vision as my Homestead fire truck. I fabbed up the water tank skid and the drop-down skid that holds the pump and hose reel.

One of the reasons I picked this truck up was for something to use as a homemade fire truck during the fire Seasons out here. The guy I bought the truck from used it similarly, here is a pic doing firetruck Duty for him. When I serviced the air dryer besides keeping records in a folder I like...
