Anyone have the NSN for the gen2 military evaporator unit? I'm sure it's buried in here somewhere but I gave up searching for it because both "nsn" and "air" are too short and all of my results are garbage.

Sorry, I'm not much help there. I owned all of my CUCVs long before I owned a torque wrench. If it's not in the TM, I'd figure it the same as the civvy 6.2. Hopefully someone else will chime in for you.

Neither. It's drivers side, but higher than the 2 part mount. I twill likely require moving the charge air piping to make room for the compressor. There's a diagram in post #495

So, the a/c compressor mount I posted above came in, and it is a RedDOT part. What would RedDot have made that fit a compressor on a 3116/3126/c7 that was not the "correct" 2 part mount? Being a RedDOT part makes me a bit less anxious about using it should I not be able to lay hands on the 2...

That sounds like maybe a boost leak. Check all of the charge air pipe connectors for loose clamps and splits in the boots.

For me, at least for the next few years, I cannot live full-time in my expedition rig. Which means at best the habitat will get used maybe 4 weeks out of the year, leaving me 48 weeks of the year when I'd be better off without the box on the back. Eventually that will change, we'll soon be...

I'm not sure I have. I saw this s-280 on legs from the Endless Adventure Youtube channel, which age me the idea of a removable habitat.

This has crossed my mind as well as replacing the stock bed with one from a rollback wrecker. But engineering and money again. Keeping the bed stock and removing the box with some legs or an overhead gantry (or in my case, maybe a couple of chain hoists hanging from trees) seems easier and cheaper.

I am considering swapping my 2.5 ton for a 5 ton, then weight becomes less of an issue, but I think it will limit the places I would be willing to take it. For being a giant truck the lmtv does fit in some pretty tight places. I'm not sure how much of that I'd lose to the extra axles and length...

Hmmm. I looked at a custom 15 foot Conex box, and I think it weighed 5k or so. I guess the 10 footer might be less, but I was looking for something to maximize the space I have and 10 foot just didn't seem big enough.

Everything designed around the Conex/ISO containers is the same way. HEAVY.

It will probably be a vicious cycle until you replace both the flexpalte and starter at the same time, making sure to get the starter shimmed correctly. FWIW, Autozone shows the flex plate available in a couple of options for a 86 c30 with a 6.2 I'm guessing you need the fra-142 maybe. Next day...
