Sometimes police just want to see that nothing is going on, if so they may leave you alone. Other times they might harasses you just because they can I guess.
Thankfully I can't see any oil or other leaks or 'blowing' from around the head gaskets. I see no coolant leaking anywhere either.
I...
Hate to hear that they gave you a tough time, even though you were just waiting for the autoparts store to open so you could fix your ride. They said they used to have security and they wouldn't let people stay. But now they don't care, as long as the vehicle doesn't appear 'abandoned' as in it...
It looks like the number that you posted is a Timken part#.
If I dont find one before hand, I'll give the shop that number and I bet they can locate one somewhere in town.
Thanks Doghead for the part number [thumbzup]! If it is the front seal thats leaking, that will save some time and running around.
I ran the number on Napa's website, and it came up under interchange seal # NOS 29887 Link: http://goo.gl/2Q5um
They don't show it in stock at any of the stores...
Ok, here's where things sit at the moment:
We could have had the shop replace the two wheel cylinders today, but it was $125 per hour because it was a weekend and only 'emergency service' was open. And they guessed 4-5 hours of work (3 hours bare bare minimum).
So we decided to wait until...
Thanks for the tips and reply doghead!
The FDC isn't bypassed, but again the oil doesn't seem to be diluted or to contain any diesel.
I'm wondering if it is a front crank seal though, hate to see what that takes to replace... in either work or $$$ cost... :(
Yes I do have about a gallon and...
This just in: A guy stopped by here in the walmart parking lot, and gave us a number to call. We did and we Might have a shop who will do the work.
Will update when I can.
Thanks All
Just running diesel, have never run wmo or anything, but the oil looks pure. Doesn't appear to be thinned or mixed, nor does it smell like diesel.
I sure hope its not a head gasket.... good to know that if it was it could starve the valve train of oil. Appreciate the info Rayzer [thumbzup]
Thanks for the reply rosco! And you're right, its doable, just might take a few days.
We are now all parked at the walmart parking lot, and have permission from the managers to stay here for a few days. So we're in no big rush, as we sure don't want to get any further into the mountains with...
Thanks jwaller! Yeah, thats what we're thinking. Hopefully we can get the lug nuts loose, either with 3/4 impact or with breaker bar. If so then yes we can fix it, as I just posted before I saw your post.
Appreciate all the help Everyone, it was a good try especially on a saturday. But it looks like everything is closed until monday.
We may try to see if we have enough tools to do this ourselves in the walmart parking lot, as we are going to have to leave the hotel in an hour.
The biggest thing...
Ok, Thanks Again Artisan! We were able to get a hold of Steve, he's given us a couple ideas, one being a regular tire shop, so we may be able to figure something out here.
Still working on it though, will update as things progress.
Thanks Dave, Very Much Appreciate the help! We're running into the same thing on our end, we've called every shop we have found so far, and all of them also seem to be closed too. Looks like we may have to just sit tight until monday.
Thanks for the reply Flyingvan911 and that's a Good thought. But we had already disconnected the manifold heater fuel lines and wires back a few months ago (as we couldn't get it to work properly) and installed an ether system to replace it.
Also the oil, on the dip stick or whats leaked out...
