Some interesting parts on it: looks like the steering box is ported for a rock ram, the steering shaft upgraded from the rag joint, high steer arms, aluminum radiator w/dual electric fans, new leaf springs. So, yeah, with the D60/14BFF detroits you have $4K of parts in it.
24 bolt wheels & load range E tires
They "came off" an up-armored Humvee. After finding out that the Blazer weighs a porky 6120 lbs, I decided I want more margin. I liiiike margin.
The CUCV 1008 pickup axles, like I have on my Blazer, are geared 4.56. With 37s the engine is working hard at 60 MPH. So, with the smaller 33s you are planning, yes, I agree 3.73 would be a good choice.

That is, I had it weighed :) Steer axle 3120 lb, drive axle 3000 lb, gross = 6120 lb. That is with a full tank of diesel + 2 spares + full CO2 tank + spare driveshafts + jack + tools. Don't forget I have a cage & rock sliders installed. And me, after...
I mount my own as well. The O-rings come in two sizes: too big and too small. You can read stories about heating up the small ones or freezing the large ones, none of that is worthwhile. Get the big ones (or even a spool of the correct diameter rubber), use a single edged razor blade to cut the...
Oooh, I see.
I have one of those diesel transfer pumps from HF. Quite often I see a piece of construction equipment waaaaay out in the boonies ( or even in the median of a major interstate) just parked there, "offering " to donate fuel in an emergency :)
I have never had to take up the offer...
