Good thinking, Ty. I have always thought that either a printed or online compilation of multiple topics would be a handy resource. I was a member of the 6.2-6.5 Diesel Page way back in the day and they would do a soft-bound booklet with the "best of the best" threads on different subjects from...
You're talking about the rezeppa joint in the front axleshafts, right? You can always switch to the u-joint type for easier (in my mind) serviceability.
Clark has gotten better on pricing over the last year. I bought a bunch of 939-series parts off of them for my current project and they are really trying to become competitive. They were even price matching. They were running a special for $28k for a basic HMMWV. I'm sure the sky is the...
Craig,
Please put this in the classified ads. I will leave this thread up since a discussion on part numbers has emerged. Otherwise, it would have been locked or deleted. Thanks.
Wow, sorry to hear that, Ron. I wish I could take it off your hands. That's a great price for a rare 8x8. How much is the monthly rent? Will you owner finance? ;)
Looking good Jason! Glad you got the wiring sorted out. That P2P program is awesome. I love the real photographs it has attached to each item. They make it much easier to find stuff under the truck.
I have been trying, unsuccessfully, to find a set of data plates for my M101A3 trailer. I checked with MV data plates vendors, but they are not available. Does anyone have any leads on where I can find a set new or used? Thanks!
Soni, I was almost wishing for some white stuff! The driving rain blowing in the window of the wrecker as I backed into position was really refreshing! ;)
Jason, it definitely feels like I am over the hump.
Now, if I can just get all of the muck out of the fuel system so it quits clogging...
Thanks everyone for your input!
The VIN inspection is finally complete! I should have asked John Winslow months ago. He had a NC DMV inspector up there looking at some trucks for him and asked him to do the form while he was at it. He got it done in less than a week! Awesome.
I'll get it...
Nice Snowcat, Soni! I love the snow pics too. Those rough terrain forklifts sure are handy. The guys at John Winslow's were using a BIG one yesterday with a 6V53 Detroit in it. That sucker screams! It was great for lifting the front of my truck out of the muck to install my tires/wheels.
I'm hoping to be able to drive it up here to VA after a couple more all day work sessions. It won't be done, done for quite some time. I have a good bit of body work to do in the cab, sandblast, paint, CTIS, etc...
Man, what a nasty day to work on a truck in the middle of a field! It rained on me all day today. I was soaked to the bone by day's end. I thought I was going to have to stick it in 4x4 to get out of the field. Sorry about the ruts. John!
My goal today was to bolt the front clip in place...
Thanks everyone. We got a pretty reasonable shipping quote today so we may be going that route if it meets everyone's approval. I will post back to let you know. Otherwise, it will be a Richard to Jim to Adam and possibly to Kyle shuffle. Outstanding!
Thanks Richard. I will definitely keep you in mind. I'm guessing you could only fit 2 crates in your truck at a time. We would want to keep them crated for protection.
