Jwade, thanks for the PM and I am actually glad you're here to read the complaints and work them out. I don't think I'm the only one that appreciates working on this issue for us.
Quote: GP's truck prices seem lower, but that may just be the market trending down. The opening bids are usually at least slightly below the bottom end of reasonable, although sometimes I have to wonder who values a freshly rebuilt non running winch truck with super singles the same as a non...
When it comes to paperwork, SF97s and such, GL had their crap together and I never had any problems with them and got them very quick. GP on the other hand is taking far too long on SF97s(I'm now almost 8 weeks since close, no SF) and I have received them twice with the wrong S/Ns on them...
I am STILL waiting for mine for an M1031 contact truck. Its been almost 8 weeks now since the auction closed and I paid. I have had 2 previous SF97s come to me with incorrect S/Ns on them and hope that whe I do see the one I'm waiting for it is correct. Ya, 8 weeks then get a bad one would have...
I paid $400 for mine with fiberglass sides/front/rear and a tarp. It was a 2009 rebuild and had brand new 9.00x20 NDC tires. My friend sold his complete for $800.
I see CUCVs for sale a lot and see prices that trend higher than an equivalent Chevy truck. So my simple question is, why? I would think the Mil spec stuff would make them a little more difficult to work on and source parts for. So I am curious. Thanks.
I also run 2 group 31 batteries that are 900CCA ea(1800CCA total) and have no problems starting my NHC250 even in low temps. The 4 battery configuration is a Mil requirement that really isn't needed for us collectors even though many choose to keep 4.
USAF had and has a lot of Ford trucks. Last year I picked up 2 F350 crew cabs at auction that were in pretty good shape. They were both "Off the shelf" F350s, A/C, 351 FI, A/T, and long bed with just a little over 100k on them.
