Well let's be clear, the CUCV was very different than the civy Chevys. 1st is the Dana 60 front axle which was not available in a Chevy. There are a lot of other required changes/upgrades that the CUCVs got too. Now, as far as not buying Fords? They did, and a LOT of them. Oh, and the Fords had...
Cleaned my M1031 up/out and fixed some lights. Verified the genset functions as it does and drives pretty nice. Deffinately not a speed demon with a TH400 and the low gears. Now I just have a few other small items to do the I want to sell it.
I left the grill and fenders attached to the truck and only changed the hood piece. I did use an F350 boom style wrecker to lift the hood off and on but seemed easy.
This is the best I have found and has been on my truck over 2 years now.

40 min. on the phone is still better than 8+ weeks for and SF97 on a truck I want to sell and still have no paperwork to do anything with. I guess until then it will just be expensive yard art.
It is a power supply for a satalite transceiver system. I googled Comtech to find that out. Probably not a lot of value unless all the other components are there.
Ouch, that is way out of my range. I think most will see that out of their range. Some one better be putting a lot of miles on their truck to justify the expense. JMO
In the last week I have gotten all the tires and wheels dealt with. When I picked it up the right front tire was shreaded, the left rear was dry rotted very bad and it had no spare. Now it has had the 2 bad tires replaced, a spare is in the rack now and I had to replace the right rear wheel as...
I am still waiting fo an SF97 on an M1031 I bought at the beginning of July. When I called last week I was told it may be 2 more weeks. Good thing I'm not in a hury and have some repairs to do before I can sell it.
Got my EUCs in about 3 weeks, but the SF97s are a different story. I have been waiting 5 weeks now for that, called and they said they were "Overwhelmed" with SF97 requests. Well what did they expect when selling only rolling stock? Maybe they should hire more people in that dept.
I had to pull my #1 alternator to have it rebuilt, no output and GEN1 light on. Replaced a 30amp fuse. When I get the alternator back in I need to come up with 2 goo tires and a rim for a spare. Oh, the truck is an M1031 Contact truck with 12KW pto driven Generator. I will fix the few items in...
Most of the M1101/1102 have LED marker lites which are 12/24 volt but the tail lamps are usually not LED so you will need to change those bulbs. 12 volts will run them but they will be very dim.
