You mean the bracket that covers the nose of the starter and covers the flywheel access? If so then yes I removed it to move the starter far enough away to get at the bolt tip. I used a piece of wood and a jack stand to keep the starter up and out of the way.

I got the half doors from Midwest but have not installed them yet. I am trying to get them to make an upper part of the doors with the window to bolt onto their half doors. Now that would be the best of both worlds for the winter and summer.

But with a fan with such an aggressive pitch I wonder how much air can be moved with the clutch disengaging at a much lower RPM than with a fan designed for a clutch setup.

I run about 43 psi and it rides alot better then when I had them at 50. Mine are E rated tires. I installed tire valve pressure caps that let me know if the pressure goes under 40 psi. These E rated tires still look full at 15 psi. Goodyear MT/Rs.

I replaced the old oak slats with 1"×4" solid mahogany. All the wood only ran 75 bucks. Two coats of linseed oil and one coat of beeswax and lemon protector. Should hold up well.

That is the spot I had planned on putting mine. Did the bracket behind the dash keep you from putting it higher? The other spot I thought of was on the upper left side of the doghouse. Well done.
