Should I check anything else before i drop my fuel tank?

I'm not a mechanic. I replaced my mechanical Lift pump and the old style fuel filter. I pulled the pink and green wire from the IP and have the fuel line bleeded, without any problems! It cost's me 2x15 sec. cranking time. Put the wires back on the IP, on the first try, it fired right up! You...

Should I check anything else before i drop my fuel tank?

There is no need for an electric lift pump. Design issues are preprogrammed! Usually, the largest source of error with CUCV's is when people start to be innovative. I replaced my old lift pump with a new AC Delco ....... let me say, it works. OMG, I already hear me how cucvrus...... but...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Agreed with tim292stro! Anyone of the PO, of my M1008, has the rear proportioning valve removed!?! It's a Safety thing! When the streets are wet or something else, hard breaking is hazardous. Think twice ;-) But, it's on you.

m1009 gear reduction starter whining wont start

I would bet on the batterys. My M1008 has also sometimes a whining from the starter and sometimes came just a click from the relay. With two new 100ah batterys the Problems are gone. CUCV's doing crazy things without good batterys.
