Thanks for the invite. I'll check it out. I'd like to meet more locals in the hobby. Hoping one day to be a part of a MI SS rally or with others in a convoy for a fundraiser, ect.
Some pics I took and got from the mud bog for a 9/11 tribute event. There was also another deuce there with some custom made rims and big 'o tires on her. The owner was also a fellow patriot and a very nice guy. Had a great conversation with him. His was a '68 and mine is a '69, both Kaiser Jeeps.
Oh yeah, it's going great! I imagine the previous owner is probably having nightmares about driving his truck only to wake up and find out it's been sold.
Been driving her everyday so far, starts and runs good, but the injection pump is starting to leak pretty good if I shut it off while still...
I know there are a lot of tribute events going on for 9/11 in respect to those who perished and the first responders. In Hastings Michigan, there are a few mud bog events and a couple cruises. Anyone going to any of these type of events with their MV?
I'm going to the Marlins mud bog with the...
So I found out today that one of my co-workers brother died and he's taking next weekend off for grievance. They denied my request which I can understand but it still sucks. I'm gonna see if I can try something different without getting in trouble by the bosses, but it's looking like I won't be...
Yeah, still running the fdc for now. For filtering, I use 2 different filter socks that's meant for petroleum products, a 50 micron and a 10 micron. The 10 takes much longer and I only use it if the oil seemed really dirty. Otherwise I primarily use the 50 micron, I figured the fuel filters on...
Anyone going to any July 4th parades in west MI? Seems like a lot of places cancelled their parades due to covid and other reasons. If anyone is going to a parade, let me know where at and the time, be nice to meet up with other Michiganders and their MV's.
Okay, I figured it was gonna be around $4-600 to plate it without restrictions. For fuel, yes, lots of wmo and until I run out, quite a bit of jet fuel. Been mixing 50/50 of jet fuel with wmo and it's been running really good. Once the jet fuel is gone I'll probably be doing 60/40 wmo/diesel mix...
I'm gonna try to make it on the weekend. I'll put in for the days off from work. No guarantee but I've been wanting to do this since I first saw all them videos of the SS rally's years ago. If it's all good, Gimpyrob, I'll shoot ya a message as this would be a first for me. If y'all don't hear...
So for plates, I'll know by 7/1/20 when I go to SOS, but for insurance, I got full coverage through West Michigan Insurance/Hagerty for $457 per year. Pretty for leisure and not daily driving, but they know I'll be doing around 200 miles a month. Not bad considering my Dakota is $900 something...
Right on.
I did find this thread. Not sure if you have found it already or not...

That's good to know. Like I said, that's what I had years ago. I'm pretty sure it said logging farm, but I don't remember. I'm sure there's all kinds of restrictions, but I never looked into it at the time. I even ran that same plate in NE for a couple years and how I never got pulled over, I...
Hey bud, another Michigander here...I had a Deuce about 9 years ago or so that I bought from a surplus dealer in Claire. At the time, I just put logging truck plates on it and insurance was stupid cheap, even having the stupid expensive no fault insurance MI had. I don't know of the restrictions...
