    Glow Plug Relay Voltage

Check the voltage drop across the GP relay. Then work your way back to the batteries to see if there is a place where the voltage begins to sag.

    Radio Interference Issue Solved

No sure what that board does. I will look into it as time permits. Its spring and everyone wants tower and antenna work done. We are still finishing up jobs from last year!

    Radio Interference Issue Solved

I just pulled the card out to ensure that the noise was emanating from the card. As time permits, I may change out a few of the parts and see if that helps any. My card was up near the parking brake mechanism to the left of the fuse block. It's in a black plastic holder.

    Radio Interference Issue Solved

I would say that a temp gauge is much better than an idiot light. Keeping an eye on any temps above the normal operating range is a good way to make sure the cooling system is functioning properly. As you are well know, gauges are your friend to help solve minor issues before they become...

    Radio Interference Issue Solved

Finally figured out an RF hash/noise interference signal that was wiping out my 11 meter and HF radios. Definitely RF related, sometimes it's there and other times its not. The M1008 and M1009 are having the same issue. I'm wondering "How on earth does a mechanical diesel engine make so much RF...

M1009: Glow plug module: wait light is on, but glow plug relay doesn't energyze

It is the black 3 terminal component that is affixed to the board with the rivet. It's next to the index slot on the card edge connector.

M1009: Glow plug module: wait light is on, but glow plug relay doesn't energyze

The new cards are available thru Hill Billy Wizard. The transistor in question is the part that is riveted to the board. Looks like that board was made around Nov 1985

M1009: Glow plug module: wait light is on, but glow plug relay doesn't energyze

I believe the card needs replaced or repaired. The card is not sending the ground command to the relay.

M1009: Glow plug module: wait light is on, but glow plug relay doesn't energyze

It will show continuity to ground for the duration of the Wait period and it may stay on for a little while longer. The length of time it stays on is determined by several factors, mainly engine temperature. Your procedure is correct for testing the ground command from the GP card. New cards...

M1009: Glow plug module: wait light is on, but glow plug relay doesn't energyze

Sounds like you lost the transistor that provides the ground command to the GP relay. Disconnect the light Blue wire from the GP relay. When the card is functioning properly, this wire will pull to ground. Check to see if that is occurring during the Wait light period with an ohm meter.

Cucv goes to WOT on startup

Sounds like the GP system is working properly. The glow plugs will stay on for up to 45 seconds after the wait light goes out. This "after glow" time depends on how cold the engine temperature sensor is. The GP system will keep the plugs supplied with power for a short period of time even after...

Ok Men, Let's see if we can stay on topic here. We have had enough distractions. Thanks.

    My Camper Project

This thread is about the camper build. It is not about CDL requirements and commercial trucks. The 5 ton food truck comments should be addressed in the existing thread about the food truck. https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?186438-M927-as-a-Food-Truck-Looking-for-advice
