Center link, tie rod ends, drag link, pitman interchange between 998 and 1123

Usually if you need both the ends and the shafts, it's easier to buy them as an assembly. Part numbers can be found on here for assemblies and individual parts (but not all are available right now) https://www.hummerpartsguy.com/TIE-RODS-RADIUS-RODS_c_965.html

    Purchased a 2006 Humvee M1097R1 - Need Help

There shouldn't be. For all intents and purposes, the M1097R1 series trucks are all standard HMMWVs of other variants that got upgraded for extra weight capacity. There really isn't anything special about them whatsoever, other than not following the standard serial numbers of the regular series.

    Power Steering Fluid Blow Out

    1) maybe/probably 2) the seal should be fine under normal use, so either it's failed or something else has failed and caused the seal to fail. 3) not a good idea 4) it certainly won't hurt anything to replace the entire box. If you aren't comfortable doing tear down/inspection/repair, it's...

    Purchased a 2006 Humvee M1097R1 - Need Help

It probably wasn't that the 6.2 wasn't robust enough, but that they had already phased out the 6.2 and everything was getting the 6.5 as a replacement.

    Hunter camfire malfunction

Same thing with the H-45 heaters and trying to relight them while they are still hot. First time I went to the field with my unit, one girl flash burned her eyeballs, as well as taking off her eyebrows.

Center link, tie rod ends, drag link, pitman interchange between 998 and 1123

no. You don't want to go backwards. The parts were updated for a reason.

Glow plugs work first start only

I don't see why not. I've had a battery disconnect switch in my truck for 3 years now no issues It's not so much a "fix" as a workaround. Who knows how long it will continue to work in this manor, and it could decide to stop working entirely in a matter of weeks, or might work for many years

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Was out driving some trails with friends. We stopped for lunch, then afterwards my truck showed the glow plugs, but everything went dead when I tried to crank it. No electrical anything working. Pulled the seat to get to the batteries, and the clamp on the ground side of the batteries had...

    Cold weather starting

cold weather no start usually means either your glow plugs have failed, or your start box has. In theory it should already have a block heater installed, and all you need to do is add a power cable. Standard GM glow plug power cable.

    HHMWV Fuel tank leak

it may or may not be an issue. There should still be fuel in the lines and filter, so you might find it fires right up with minimal cranking. When I dropped and reinstalled my tank I don't remember doing anything special to get it running again. If it does have issues, then yes, you'll need to...

    HMMWV Snow Plow

I know this is an old thread, but wanted to update the PS magazine link posted earlier. They changed where/how the articles are posted, so the old link is no good. Here is a current/functional link https://www.ldac.army.mil/web2/archive/PS2001/588/588-06.pdf Also linked the PDF page that the...

First HMMWV, is there something I should replace before hitting the trails?

this page has a pretty good list of filters for the H1. Most of them are the same as the HMMWV (except the fuel filter as mentioned above) http://www.hummerknowledgebase.com/parts/list/005.html

    Airlift Bumper question

pintle extension is mostly for if you have a shelter that overhangs the rear of the truck, or some of the GMVs needed them because of the rear platform. Or, as mentioned above, the tire carrier installed. For a standard truck with the standard airlift bumper and no tire carrier, no extensions...

    SHC35 and SHC60 Battery

in the Army out in the field I'd toss food packages into the outlet hose where it goes into the tent. An hour or so later I'd have hot food. The look on the new Battalion XO's face when I'm offering him hot bratwurst (Johnsonville pre cooked) was priceless. We'd also put water cans a couple...

    4L80 Stuck in 2nd Gear

So in your 5th picture there is the 200 amp umbilical plugs behind the battery box. Between that plate in the rear footwell, and the battery box, that is where a circuit breaker goes in the 4 speed trucks. It's not in any of your pictures because in your case you may need to remove the plate in...

    M720 or M832

Looking through the interwebs, both are designed for the S280 shelter. Only real difference is the 720 has a max gross of 6k (or 8k for the M720HD version) and the M832 has a max of 20k lbs. http://www.wenzlau.com/m720.html http://www.wenzlau.com/m832.html

I think these are home made....

I looked at the ebay link. I'm sure the price they are asking seems reasonable with the price of hard doors, but for comparison sake when I bought my BEOD it came with those doors and the camouflage storage rack on top of the cab (that also sells by itself in the $1000 price range) A local...

    Brake light trouble.

there is a switch down at the pedal area that is notoriously out of adjustment. When testing at a stop you tend to use a lot of pressure, but often when running/driving it doesn't take as much pressure, so you aren't actually activating the brake light switch. There is a way to adjust the switch...

    (stupid) pitman arm replacement question.

steering gear seems relatively tight. Now with everything tightened down and the tie rods, pitman arm, and idler arm all new, I have maybe 1/2-1" of movement in the steering wheel with the truck off before the wheels start moving. I drove it last night and steering is much more responsive than...

I think these are home made....

those are the doors that go with the BEOD (Body, Explosive Ordnance Disposal) The lip on top is to mate up with the front roll down doors on the BEOD Considering the BEOD does carry explosives in it, it's designed to lock, so some reinforcement would be expected. Doesn't look like it had a...
