I think the major disconnect here is the fact that Humvees look cool, but they are meant for the military. The military formations run at 40 mph. They are not looking for high speed unless you get one of the rare vehicles with a Rod Hall suspension and drivetrain. Even then, pulling a horse...
Mogman is correct. Tough love BUT you should have been able to spot this prior to pulling the diff cover.
We all just want you to be safe and happy.
Now check the hubs for leaks and looseness.
I was thinking the same thing. KDS EESS especially is all solid state. SSI boxes are also all solid states. All the boxes aside from maybe the Amtek/Prestolites have breadboards with IC’s. Easy for units like that to blow an IC or part of the breadboard and have weird issues.
What EESS PCB do...
Start goes through pin B dashboard 8 pin side (EDIT - correction… A pin) and pin I under hood nine pin side. I would think a short in the PCB EESS could do this, although a bad ignition switch or stuck solenoid is more likely.
Lightly strike the solenoid and starter with a hammer and see if...
Sorry Mog, BUT ultimate speed is limited by ultimate engine RPM and gearing. Yes, you need some horsepower to push, BUT in our vehicles it has to do with gearing not HP.
Change your diff gears to 2.56. I think pulling a thousand pound house in a thousand pound trailer that will act like a sail would make 70MPH unrealistic in a HMMWV with stock tires. Swapping to 40” might help.
Speed and horsepower are apples and oranges. Speed is about distance over time. Horsepower is about Force over time. Horsepower will allow faster acceleration but gearing ultimately decides top end speed.
Does the Noco put off enough heat to require venting? Have you placed a thermometer. A guy with a rare hummer H1 just burned to the ground due to a trickle charger of all things.
