    M35A2 Radiator-Murphy's Lawyers.....

I've got a radiator in at a local shop right now as well, only one pinhole, but the guy said the same thing. Bucket tank construction at the top will cost $700-$800 to recore, so if the the core is starting to rot, I'll be better off buying a new one !

    Houston area roll call....

Sure, I'd be up for it. Even though it's hot, I'm trying to drive the Deuce at least once a week. Just took it to my 25th (!) high school reunion picnic. Oh, and I'm 77004, about 8 blocks from Herman Park (1.5 mi from Downtown). Way to revive an old thread !

    Pine or Oak Flooring

Also in the Houston area, you can often find various tropical hardwoods (although not very "green") for trailer flooring. A couple of years ago I bought a 20' 2"x12" purplehart board, to make furniture, for about $20 ! (add at least one $0 at at a specialty hardwood yard) Look up trailer...

    A/C Retrofit Kits

If I remember the kit instructions properly, if you were installing it on the intended truck (the newer 7 tons the marines use, Oshkosh MTVR), the existing serpentine belt on the engine is replaced with a longer one (included in the kit) that goes around 1 or 2 new pulleys (also in the kit)...

    TX MV Rally Picture Thread

A day at Surfside beach... fond High school memories.... A Memorial day week at Surfside... fond early post college (& pre family) memories... A long hot drive home afterward though. I'm definitely interested, but busy through mid June.

    First Annual TX MV Rally

There seem to be 3 organized groups / museums in the Houston area, and just from websites and hearsay, all seem to be mostly focused on WWII, jeeps, full restorations, re-enactments etc. Not so much adaptive use of a a Deuce, which is why I have one. Here is one of the links: Blue Bonnet Motor...

    DOT 5 & Seals

british cars and DOT 5 We (along with most I know in the hobby) switch our old British sports cars over to DOT 5 when we do a full rebuild of the brake system. As some others have said, it's almost impossible to flush all the DOT 3 out of the system. Added benefit of the DOT 5, it does not...

    A/C Retrofit Kits

Already done most of the cab sealing, still need to install the boots and new weatherstripping. Then heat and sound insulation (it's amazing how much difference that makes, even without A/C, in our old Triumph sports cars), then the A/C. But, I've got to pull the radiator to fix a pinhole leak...

    muffled the roar

I've got the same dynomax muffler (but also "hidden" under the heat shield), don't need ear plugs around town anymore, but definitely still need them on the highway ! Sound / heat insulation for the cab is moving up on the list...

    Rubber/plastics people

If the OD is ~.2" one "replacement" you might look for is the plunger seal off a syringe. They come in lots of diameters, and are available in various rubber compounds (I'd look for a nitrile like viton for the diesel application).

    Rubber/plastics people

My experience with old hydraulics is that the rubber has to deteriorate pretty bad for a seal to take that much of a set. I wouldn't expect it to seal even if you cleaned up the end. What are the approximate dimensions ? That kind of rubber tip on the end of a piston or rod looks real...

    Wiper motor replacement O-rings?

Don't know the sizes, when I cleaned mine out all the o-rings were ok. But, you could try: O-Ring Division - Parker and/or search for Parker O-Ring Handbook ORD 5700 This will give you way more info then you want, and after a few days you might figure out the right size. I would take the...

    First Annual TX MV Rally

everything works And thanks to the mud bogging excursion (and Barman) I now know that everything on my truck works ! I'd already gotten a chance to try out the front axle drive and low range for real on the trails, the winch was the last thing on the list. Of course, now I get to practice the...

    Big truck ins?

Rene, How about leasing it to your shop for advertising, and insure it though the business ? I looked into this for the deuce, but since my regular insurance company was happy to do it (jeep m35a in their computer !, and the policy was clear that as long as it was under 26K it was ok), there...
