    Hard Start Issue

OK, I think I have a temporary storage solution in place, so my next question is.....how do I get the fuel out of the tank. I tried a 1/2" syphon hose, but it doesn't seem to work. I don't really want to break open any hard lines, as I do'n't want to take the chance of breaking one of them...

    Hard Start Issue

And that is the issue I am facing, as I don't want to just dump it. That is just plain wrong. No one wants this junked up fuel. I called all the recycle centers around me, DEEP and about 15 gas stations. I even called three fuel companies. No one wants it. I did call a company that deals...

I am up in the northeast corner of CT. If anyone knows of a place that would take the fuel, please let me know.

    Hard Start Issue

RGR All on the disposal. I won't dump it and I won't put it in my oil tanks, I checked around yesterday afternoon and no one seems to be able to take it, even the county recycle center (unless it was used oil). I think the burn-off idea is solid. I have a large fire pit in the back and it...

    cdr/pcv valve

I like the solution and thanks for the part number. How do you plan to connect that up to the CDR and the right and left side pipes?

    Hard Start Issue

Thanks for the inputs guys. She has been in the garage for several days, so I hope all the lines are now "unfrozen", but the water in the fuel needs to go.The bummer is that I just filled it last time out, so she is full. So here is a question. I just filled up the house fuel tanks. I have a...

    Hard Start Issue

Batteries are charged up again, but the front battery seems to be a bit weaker than the front. Just put her back on the charger. I have a few other thing to do today, but I am going to crack the injector feeds and see if they are getting fuel. If they are, I am stuck as to why she won't fire up.

Squibbly's M1009 and other Questionable Projects

I am due for a new set of tires at the end of the year (funds permitting). I have run 32's in the past and I think they are a good fit for the truck. I liked the look and the MPG did increase slightly. I do have a set of those cheaper black steel wheels in 16", but I am not sure I want to put...

    Hard Start Issue

OK, to answer the most recent question, I don't have any fuel leaks that I can detect. I had charged the batteries up the other day and it was fairly warm out today, so I worked on the 09 for a little (old hands get cold quick). First was a check to see if the fuel pump was working...

    84 m1009 cucv chevy blazer build-up

I have had an M1009 for the past 15+ years. I have made some fairly long trips (600-700 miles) up and down the east coast. At a steady 65mph I can get 20 to 21 mpg. On one trip I did see a solid 23 mpg, but I was also forced, due to heavier traffic, to stay around 55 mph most of the way...

    LED Taillights?

Nice, but kinda expensive ! Wouldn't just purchasing some new LED bulbs for each side be easier..........AND far less expensive?

    Harbor Freight Winch questions

Thanks for all the input. The cable reel is not rusted, just dirty. I believe I have the solenoid pack and controller, just have to remember where I put them (moved twice since I bought it. All that aside, If it goes up for sale, the winch itself is VERY heavy. Shipping that setup would be...

    Hard Start Issue

Thanks Rick. TM says to disconnect at the fuel filter, pull the pink wire and have a catch can ready. With the spin-on, it's easy (I just changed it out in case that was an issue). Glow plugs seem to be working. I took a Fluke laser temp probe to them and they all indicate that they are...

Yeah, some of the motorcycle shops sell higher end electric clothing, including jackets, gloves, sock, etc. Bought my wife an electric vest (little 7.2v battery) and it will keep her very toasty in sub-zero temps for about 4 hours on high. She loves it !

    Hard Start Issue

Finally got some help yesterday and got the truck in the garage. Didn't have time to get into some real troubleshooting, but I did try to crank her over one more time before I did. Still no joy. She spins over easy enough, with no drama, but she won't fire, or even try to. Next step is a...

    Harbor Freight Winch questions

I thought about the Harbor Freight stuff and it does get decent reviews for what it is. Speaking of Winches (and not to hijack the thread), I've had this one for a while, but have decided, for now, to keep my 1009 stock. Can anyone identify this winch and guess at a value for me?
