The hawker batteries are the first choice if money is no object or if you need that kind of performance. But any two batteries are adequate to run a hmmwv unless you have a bunch of radio equipment.
Anything not pictured is presumed absent. Inferences are frequently in error.
If the truck started and ran, and no batteries were pictured, then what I'd expect to find would be 6TLs on their last leg and in need of immediate replacement.
Another example of invalid inference- the truck was...
I sincerely doubt it's worth their trouble to put in a couple car batteries in the hopes of making a few bucks selling used Hawkers on the extremely limited secondary market. Who is the potential buyer?
Also, I have purchased multiple trucks with the Hawkers still present.
A far more...
I like the truck tractors with shortened cargo beds. I've done several that way.
Bedlining anywhere but the bed makes me think it's hiding rust. Or will rust underneath it.
Something else to consider in TX is that the 5ton triggers special licensing (noncommercial class B or A) whereas a...
I like that one. Looks like a good solid truck that someone went through in detail. I like that one far better at $8500 than the first one at $10k, completely ignoring any additional trades.
Points of comparison between the one you're looking at and this tan one
1) dual circuit brakes. Adds about $2500 in value.
2) dropside bed, adds maybe $750
3) aluminum MRAP rims , adapter plates, 395 XZLs. Adds about $3500 over stock wheels and tires, less than that compared to his 395s on...
Looks like you got a good truck at a decent price. I glanced through the pics and didn't see anything major.
The charging guage shows where I'd expect it to be for either fully charged batteries and an INOP alternator, or flat dead batteries and a working alternator (more likely)
TX has recently changed their FMV laws to specifically accept SF97s. With this in mind, a SF97 should be quite sufficient and no need to spend the extra $ on a title from GP.
Usually I recommend spending the $ on the title. But TX is the exception.
Do you like this better?
Late Airforce truck with dual circuit brakes. 395 XZLs on aluminum MRAP rims. 1987 build date.... and delivery available.

A good bolt is better than a poor weld.
For things used on the road or other places where failure would be critical, if you don't absolutely trust your welds, bolt it instead.
If I were welding that, it'd get multiple passes of 7018 stick.
