Deuce - M35 Front End Alignment.

I like that PVC method. Never heard of it before. NDT tires will hold a regular tape measure on the center rib which makes a single person alignment real easy. Basically, you want to measure the front of the tire from a repeatable location of the tread on both tires. Then do the same at the...

Deuce - M35 Front End Alignment.

I used a pickle fork and BFH to get mine apart. The alignment is super easy. 9.00 tires the front should be 1/8” closer together than the rear. 11.00 tires they are supposed to be 1/4” toe in. The -20 list it out.

    High voltage m1009

If you only have a single battery. Your charging system could be just fine. It is playing catch-up because even a 12 volt starter on the 6.2 diesel needs over 1500 amps. You probably have an 800-1000 amp battery in there. Glow plug and starting is draining your battery and the alternator is...

    Coolant and Oil Temp Sensor

Coolant ports are all over the 6.2 engine. Each head has one at one end. Pass rear (Cold start/fast idle inhibit switch) and drivers forward (Idiot light) past the last exhaust port on each side. The cross over block off plates at the rear of both heads can be used. Stock CUCV uses the...

    Coolant and Oil Temp Sensor

There is a pressurized oil port above the oil filter and oil cooler lines. It has a square 1/4 NPT plug in it. That plug takes a square 1/4” tool. A 1/4” socket extension will fit just long enough to probably round it out. There is a Snap-On tool made just for it. Great place for oil temp. Or...

Banks to discontinue sidewinder turbo this month.

Find out if the turbo for the Ford 6.9/7.3 kit from Banks is available. Bigger turbo with a waste gate.

    Glow plug advice.

As posted above. The stock replacement is the 13G. 12 volt. I have 60G glow plugs in all of my trucks. You have to change the wire connector for them to plug in. However, since the 60G is self limiting. They self regulate and shouldn’t swell up if on too long or even worse. Explode inside your...

    85 K5 Blazer / 6.2 DIESEL / m1009

When you start talking about the lift, driveshaft changes and such. ColoradoK5.com has a much more experienced member group for those things than many people here.

    85 K5 Blazer / 6.2 DIESEL / m1009

White smoke. Dirty white that smells like diesel or puffy bleached white that might have a bit of antifreeze smell? If I is the dirty oily white let the engine run for an extended bit of time. 45 minutes or more. After you have checked the cooling system and are sure you are not getting any...

    electrical problems CUCV

Did you remove the ground wire bolts between the radiator and the fender on both sides and clean all of that real well? If you switches are all good, your dimmer is good, your lights themselves are good and your grounds are good. Then the firewall plug or a rubbed raw wire is your issue...

    M101A2 leaf spring capacity questions

The stock axle and springs will probably do what you want them to do. You might want to check local and federal laws about what is required of the trailer to legally haul another vehicle before you get too far into this though.

    M101A2 leaf spring capacity questions

I don't recall that question ever being asked before. What exactly are you wanting to do with the frame? I ask because for most vehicles the military weight rating is for off road when operated by a 17 year old idiot with a heavy right foot. If you are building an expedition trailer out of it...

    ON BOARD AIR?

I did a York compressor based OBA system with M35 air tanks on my M715 14 years ago. I used semi truck air brake lines to plumb quick connect fittings to both bumpers. Cutting off a male fitting and welding on a 1” round plate made a great plug to keep out crud. It worked great! Until it...

2020 TX MV Rally at the Brazos Valley Off-Road Ranch

The Governor just sealed the event for good. No more that 10 people gatherings. National and state parks are closing as well. I went to the store this morning to get a few pounds of beef. I found out there is no ground beef in this town. With no known date for more deliveries. I ended up going...

2020 TX MV Rally at the Brazos Valley Off-Road Ranch

A&M has cancelled all events and gatherings of more than 50 people for the rest of the semester. Online classes only for now. The museum website still says the living history weekend is a go. However, with the way things are falling. This might fall too. If that happens, I think we should...

There you go. The president of the LSMVPA has spoken.

Can I pay to drive a deuce?

Come over to the Texas Rally in Bryan 3 weeks from now and you will get a chance. If you can’t make it. The Lone Star MVPA meets every 3rd Wednesday at Camp Mabry. Lots of M35 owners are members. Great group of people too. I’m sure a test drive can be arranged.

    Starter issue

Since it is basically a new to you used vehicle. You don’t know anything about it. The starter solenoid is unknown to you until it is pulled and looked at. I had a non Delco solenoid on one of my trucks when it came to me. It stuck on and ran away one night. I don’t recall ever reading about a...
