    Looking at a '53 M108 Gasser

I'd sure like to have one. They won't lift nearly as much as my 936, but I like them anyway.

Found fuel in the crankcase and a hard start

Do not run the engine anymore until you get the fuel in oil issue fixed. Fuel density compensator and hydraulic head o-rings are the most common causes of this.

Welcome to the forum, and the lifestyle! ( It truly is a choice) Keep those hubs and brakes done up! Trade you a deuce for the 432??

    Statistics on Deuce ownership

Yeah, I would feel much better not knowing the information in question, while at the same time not having to worry about bureaucrats and politicians thinking they need to make new laws pertaining to my vehicles and their use.

    My first Deuce.

Don't make it a 4 door, way too much work, and way easy to ruin it. You can extend the cab by 3-4 inches pretty easily, and still retain the full length deuce bed. I swapped my motor because my old one was pretty well worn anyway.

    Sealing Compound MIL-S-45180

That looks like the same thing as Indian Head shellac compound.

    Sealing Compound MIL-S-45180

When there is no gasket at all, the stuff that comes in a can with the little cotton ball brush is better. It sets up more like a gasket by itself than the spray. The spray is great for coating existing gaskets.

Piston Rings Worn Out, Time for a Rebuild

You know Jake, that is an interesting idea. I forgot about that entirely. Seems plausible. And it would explain why some reman engines have a lot of blowby from the slobber tube, and some have almost none. If they weren't properly observed and replaced with properly sized liners during rebuild

    Website slow loading?

Honestly, if someone has nothing better to do than screw with a vehicle collector's forum, they need to either get a life, or give up and kill themselves.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

That'll probably stop eventually, since you have an air dryer installed now.

HanksDeuce: 8" Lift, Bobbed, External Cage, A/C and more Project!

If I had been able to paint the whole thing, the details would have been a lot better. I'm sorry about the overspray on your brake lines and I'm sure some other things that you didn't want painted. You should be able to remove it from the brake lines with WD-40 on a rag. That was a really hard...

    My newest turd: Jeepsinker's M49A2

Ok, alright. So maybe all of them werent, but every one I've come across has had a winch pto on it.

Brand new 3053, brand new Waterloo kit, started popping out of 5th

Yes it does still positively lock into 5th. The reason for needing a new cover gasket, is because when I put it together I sealed this gasket with copper gasket sealant. I meant for it not to leak or be removed for a very long time. I'm sure that if I remove it the gasket will peel or tear. I'm...
