I am looking for two more of the items in picture. I do not know what they are called so it is difficult for me to order them. They are used to hold the 4 man rear cargo tubular frame in place. I have 6 bottom pieces for the 3 frame rails but I am short 2 top pieces .
That is certainly a great point in keeping the run flats in. I cringe every time I see someone on the side of a Freeway changing a flat tire. If we think that one little white line is going to protect us from a distracted driver, statistics would say otherwise. I always tell my wife if you get a...
I keep 40 psi front 45 psi rear. Run flats removed. Does very well on freeway. Not a lot of off road as I live North of Houston Tx. which is a concrete jungle. (LOL)
I seem to have a little room left before the shift handle hits the edge of the slot. I will say that it just doesn't feel like a solid lock when shifting in low. Thanks for your advice.
I have a 700R4 transmission installed in my HMMWV. Since purchase of vehicle about 1 year ago, transfer case has always popped out of low. I have to physically hold shift lever down to drive in Low. I have no problem in HL or H. Any suggestions?
I could not agree more. The belts are actually fine. I've never used a gauge to adjust belts in the past. I'm not sure why I felt the need to adjust belts with a gauge now. Oh well. I will chalk it up to wasting $50 on live and learn. Thanks for the input. Be safe and be Blessed.
Can anyone give me advice on the use of this gauge? I have 3 belts coming off of my generator and 1 on the power steering pump. I can get the gauge on one generator belt towards the block of the motor. I cannot get gauge on center belt or belt towards the fan. I will try to install gauge from...
I just installed my exhaust a few weeks ago. It looks like your exhaust did not come with the mounting hardware. According to the instructions there are two 2" sleeved bushings that mount on the outside between the fender and the exhaust. I originally mounted mine that way per the instructions...
After a bit of research is does appear that the half shaft that I replaced the boots on is in fact a 7K. The other 3 had been replaced and upgraded to the 10k half shaft. I'm grateful for the information received from you . Thanks again.
The Boots were purchased from SECO Parts :
HMMWV HUMVEE M998 M1025 HALF SHAFT BOOT KIT 5705605 NSN 2530-01-191-8741

My HMMWV is a 1989. This axle I was assuming is a 10k. The large outer hub is round. The other 3 axles appear to be upgraded as they are different. They seem...
I replaced half shaft boots. I did not want to disassemble half shaft to install new cv joint boots as only the boots were torn. I replaced boots with new old stock. These boots are much thicker than aftermarket boots. I spent two hours trying to use the cone method in trying to install cv...
Thought I would share a simple repair to the infamous CV boot tear. I observed a significant tear in my upper CV Boot passenger side. I didn't have time to replace boot. I purchased a tube of CV joint grease. I inserted the end of CV joint grease inside tear and squeezed grease up towards the CV...
These are the glow plugs that were given to me when I purchased HMMWV last year. They look like they are used so I'm assuming that they were taken out and replaced with new. Are these non-swelling or standard glow plugs? On the left side of pic 4 have a longer tip. Any reason for this? I...
