I’m using the plug off the water pump.
It’s only temporary until I install my HMMWV coolant crossover with the correct water temperature sensor placement.
I know the water pump is not the ideal location for temp accuracy but it does do a decent job there.
I use AutoMeter gauges for water...
I love these trailers and have absolutely zero use for one and would never buy one.
But.....
Really enjoying reading about you bringing one back to life.
Yes, Pics would be great
I keep seeing them in background shots on auction sites.
When I was flying in Northen California earlier this month, I spotted several in use at different government facilities and more in the DRMO lots.
They do stand out on a Military base.
Prices have definitely gone up.
I have one also. Can’t find pics now.
Very well made product and easy to install.
It’s identical to the original 1984 design.
It is OD in color and looks great.
I don’t use the bottom spring loops.
Just tuck bottom behind bumper and works great.
It fits nice and snug.
Very easy to take...
Wasn't referring to a search.
Just go through the old threads and read the ones that apply to your trailer.
The information you come across is invaluable.
That’s what I meant about answers to questions you haven’t thought of yet.
It does take some time but is well worth it.
TMs and manuals are constantly updated once published as mentioned above.
No updates inserted/installed and you will be reading out of date information.
I think this HP horse has been beaten enough.
Decal is original.
Clean air filter housings do exist.
All 1986 and 1987 manufactured CUCVs have this very decal.
Straight from factory.
My 1987 filter housing cracked and I replaced it with one from a 1986 made CUCV.
Alternators are factory GM stock Delco units.
Both have been professionally rebuilt
Voltmeter and DMM showing they are working perfectly.
I’m not having battery or charging issues.
The alrcraft battery charger is for future use if/when a problem does arise.
If I can even use it...
You know they make an adapter for a pintle to a 2” receiver.
No cutting or welding required.
Croft trailer sells them.
