Well....I knew things were going too well with my newly acquired CUCV. Murphy must have finally found out.
Today I drove the CUCV to the lower barn to feed the piggys. I had started and stopped it twice switching the ignition off both times.
The last time I started it the starter...
I have seven HEMMET rims with o-rings and valve stems and the adapters to mount them on deuce axles. The adapters were CNC machined and are of fantastic quality.
I still have the M275 deuce tractor. It is in good physical condition but needs tires. The engine was running when parked but ran at...

If you are interested in something rarer than a regular deuce and different I have an M275 deuce tractor that I'm looking to re-home.
The price is reasonable for what it is.
PM for details
My M927A2 had been picked to be in Fast and Furious 7 but at the last minute they cancelled. I was going to get 300 a day plus 100 per day per diem, plus 300 for fuel to drive it from here to Atlanta and back. That was for static display only.
Under no circumstances allow anyone else to drive...

The 250 is a pig and has very little reserve power. Check the fuel filters first. There may have been a lot of crud in the tank if the trucks sat up for a long time. Manually downshifting does help some. If you ease off the throttle just a hair it will actually pull a little better (no...

There is bound to be an old school rebuild shop in your neck of the woods. I would have the old one rebuilt. You will get no warranty from a Chinese made starter.

I once had an aggravating leak. I would drive the truck and there was never a visible leak anywhere. The coolant would steadily go down.
I was driving down the road one day and smelled coolant. I whipped over to the side and started looking for leaks. I found a pinhole in a hose that...

Way too many unanswered questions here.
Has the mechanic ever pulled and replaced a CUCV engine?
Has he ever replaced the IP or worked on a CUCV engine?
Is he going to pull the engine and transmission in one shot? In my opinion it's easier to do that than try to realign the...

Man.....that truck is tougher than woodpecker lips.
When I was in an ordnance unit at Fort Benning we had two M916's and two of the same type trailer shown in your pics.
We hauled D7 dozers and 10K rough terrain forklifts (and anything else that the trailer could haul) with them.
Ours...

Soni changed the transmission in his M920 to a manual and replaced the 400 Cummins with a 600. As for the axles I guess anything is possible with time and money. The V-8 Detroit is, in my opinion, the biggest liability to this truck. Don't get me wrong, I love the sound of the big...

If scrap price is 3000 then offer them 2500. Unless they want to scrap it out they may just flip it to you depending on what they have in it. Some scrap yards require that the tires be removed before they will take it. If the yard has to cut it up using a torch they will not give you...
