on another note, looks like my Deuce is going to make it on Spike TV next month as parts of a short Warn video...I'll post times and days here as soon as I know them.
Here's a link to a clip of the Warn photo/video shoot the day after the event. I got a short clip in the beginning with a small 6 wheel drift :)

No lockers yet; I almost bought one for the front axle before this trip, but knew I wouldn't have the time to drop it in.
Eventually I do plan on a locker in each axle, and locking hubs for the mid axle. Just waiting for some more free time...
It's once a year; it is put on by the Santiam 4wd association. The website is here:
The Official Site of SFWDA
This year (and the next 3 years) it is held in a farmer's field; they do a good job of putting the event on. They hire a security company, porta potties, concession stands, water...
Mudfest 2011
Just got back from Sweet Home, OR a few hours ago...still sorting through pics, but I'll post a few here for now. I also have a bunch of video footage...I'll get some on youtube soon.
It was an awesome weekend! It was a 3 hour drive there, 2 solid days of wheeling, and a 3...
looks good so far!
Are you planning on putting a filter in your setup?
If you haven't figured out that part yet, I have used magnefine inline magnetic filters on other systems with good success; just search ebay for magnefine and you'll turn up several sizes. It's cheaper than a spin on filter...
My choice to do this was based on the cost and availability of one-piece steering columns; yes, it is certainly possible to build a longer steering column and mount the steering valve fully inside of the engine compartment. But, it was significantly less expensive, easier, and less complicated...
Hey, that looks just like mine!
Wait, it IS mine!
IMO, that is a perfectly safe way to mount the orbital; uncomplicated because the shaft bolts right to the valve, safe because all of the pressure lines are outside of the cab and have no direct path to people parts.
I've put a lot of miles...
This was kind of my point in starting this thread; I, too think that the engine and generator should be capable of starting a 10HP motor, especially a 3 phase one. The OL system that is built into a generator should be restrictive enough to prevent damaging the generator, engine, and the loads...
I agree with you on this; these reading were lower than I expected. Here were my thoughts on this:
1. The generator's breaker is tripping before the VR has the chance to recover from the initial surge, causing the voltage to drop rapidly and limiting the peak current sent to the motor
2. My...
I did get a few minutes last week to play with it; I only got the chance to work with one of my -003's, so not sure yet on the -002's or my other -003. But, here is what I did:
Checked the setting on R3, it was perfect
Hooked up a large load (10HP 3 phase motor) and started it a few times on...
I posted this in the thread that you started with this specific question, but for everybody else who doesn't like to search (and because I think it is a cool unit and I'd like to see somebody try it out), here it is again:
Surplus Center - 9.7 CU IN STEERING VALVE (TORQUE GENERATOR)
My understanding is that it only requires a pump. I had looked into this on my deuce before I did my hydro setup.
It looks really slick...if the deuce's column wasn't a continuous tube it would have been REALLY tempting.
This is not true
We can debate it all day, but I personally researched this in great depth before I put the full hydro on my deuce. It is only illegal in Tennessee. Posts like this are why the rumor is still around.
I am running full hydro on my deuce using a 5 ton pump. I only found a few...
Nice...
I have been kicking the idea of doing this round for a while...just haven't hit on that "perfect" idea yet. Hoping I can take a few people's ideas and suggestions and something will click...then I'll bust out the welder. Thanks for the idea...mulling it over now...
so...I'm betting there might be some SS members here that like guns
rofl
So...anybody got a clever idea on how I could mount my BA50 in the bed of the deuce? Thinking some kind of swivel seat mount. Kinda thinkin' it might be badass to roll up to a rock quarry and touch off some .50 BMG...
