Feel free to stop by to take measurements of a complete bow assembly. I am right off of I70 near Mt. Airy (about 15 minutes down Route 27).

    M916 recovery

How do you have the M923 tagged? Commercial? I would almost guarantee that you can't (legally) tow your M916 with the M923 with historic or collector plates. Make sure your insurance covers you, too. Nothing worse than finding out you are not covered AFTER something happens. Not trying to rain...

Great job. Now all you need is the fuel burning heater to set you up right for the ND winters!

    My 1008 and its problems

Is there any chance to go back to the previous owner to question him/her about the discrepancies?

    M916 recovery

I just did some quick math on the fuel you'll burn driving there and back. I estimate about 62 gallons, but it will probably be more because you almost certainly won't be getting 8 MPG on the return leg. However, at 8 MPG, you will spend about $225 on fuel ($3.50/gallon). So, in essence, you are...

    M916 recovery

My only suggestion is to be very careful pulling a heavier truck with a lighter one. Hooking up to the front glad hands is advisable as the other poster stated. Even this is not the complete answer as a heavier truck may push a lighter truck on turns. Also, make sure your insurance will cover...

    M939A2 fuel delivery problem

This truck came straight from GL. The truck looks like it was under water...not entirely...but it was probably stuck in fairly deep water. This might make sense as the bumper #s indicate it was a school truck. There is water in the power steering reservoir and the transmission. Joe thinks...

    M939A2 fuel delivery problem

Also, if anyone has a lead on a rebuilt or new injector pump for a 6CTA 8.3L Cummins motor, please let me know. Thank you!

    M939A2 fuel delivery problem

GIJOECZAR contacted me regarding a problem that he uncovered with his M925A2. He is on the road and does not have Internet access and asked me to post a question to the list. Here is his info: "A2 not starting, because it's not getting fuel. There's fuel pressure all the way to the fuel...

    8V92s all over GL

Just as a point of comparison, I bought (about two years ago) a verified zero mile, freshly rebuilt motor in the can with dyno specs from a surplus dealer in CA for $7,500 and that was the "as delivered" price to FL.

    Which Tractor?

Find yourself an M52A2. They are cool trucks, are kind of rare these days, and have a nice sounding turbo! Plus, they would have been correct for the period, too. Everyone and their brother has an M818. Go with the multifuel...

Welcome. When I read "Western MD," I was thinking Cumberland or Deep Creek Lake. Boonsboro is on the other side of the mountain from Frederick right? If so, you are about 40 minutes from me.

Picked up a Huey UH-1B today

Contact DECODEME as he has one and has restored it. He might be able to turn you onto some of the needed parts.

    Florida to Missouri, M923 pickup

Phil, I assume you won't be coming through MD, but, if you do, please know that I am here to help (or if you need a place to stay, a hot meal or shower).

    M101/105 steel bows and corners

I concur with CARNAC. Used, but complete metals bows run about $20-25 in my estimation based upon what I've paid and sold them for. Brand new, I'd have to think they are worth AT LEAST that.

    8V92s all over GL

I would like to add that there almost always are reasons why a motor gets pulled. Very infrequently are good motors swapped out for no reason. They almost always have problems like low oil pressure, or other signs of wear. I did hear that they swapped out a lot of perfectly good stuff (e.g...

    Straight stacked my M923

While the Michelin XLs LOOK to be directional tires, Michelin asserts that they are non-directional. I usually like to mount my tires all in the "correct" direction. However, I was told by a guy in the military that they often do this purposely so your average enemy soldier won't have any idea...
