Yes, welcome. If I can help you with anything, feel free to contact me. You are near BWI, right? I am about 40 minutes from you closer to Frederick or Mt. Airey.
Very nice. It looks like you added the retro support leg, right? Just curious...where did you find it? I saw one on eBay one time. I bought one from a fellow SteelSoldier, although I know he is out of them. I believe he had like 3 or 4 at one point.
With regard to the landing leg, a company (Williams?) makes a stabilization kit that is well worth the money (well, not retail money, but surplus money). I have one for my trailer.
I agree. I think the M105A3 is a superior design, all except the landing leg. Galvanized bed, internal tie down points, recessed composite lights, side and rear marker lights, etc.
I don't think you will easily sell the van body. I am sure there is someone out there looking for one, but finding that guy will be difficult. Just my $.02...
Others have already said it and I want to stress it again...write letters to the writers of this bill AS WELL AS your own Maryland Senator. The more times they are hit with letters complaining about this, the better. I have already done so (mine, unfortunately, was one of the author's of the...
Insurance is only one issue. Inspections bring up far greater problems. I once TRIED to get an M929 inspected. I had no interest in actually using the truck as it was intended, but it was younger than 20 years old and I wanted to be able to drive it. This was in the early-2000s before the...
Juan, being from Metairie, you HAVE to know Jason Frisch (HALFTRACK), right? Check with him. He has quite a bit of knowledge about the M939 series trucks.
I have never seen one up close so I can't answer your question, but Rancher's Supply in Lamar, CO has them for sale, too, so do some price and quality comparisons.
The vast majority of M939 series trucks DID NOT have lockers. The exception was with USMC M939 series trucks. They most commonly converted trucks to singles if they had duals and added lockers, but I've had USMC trucks that did not have lockers and/or were not converted to singles so even that...
Yeah, I have an M928A2 that has the same sticker on it that says the truck is an M923!
Basically, here are the main differences...
M939
NHC250 Cummins
Allison auto tranny
1100x20 tires
M939A1
NHC250 Cummins
Allison auto tranny
1400x20 tires
M939A2
6CTA 8.3l Cummins
Allison auto tranny...
Just as an FYI, that truck is not an A1. It is an M923. You can tell by the dual 1100 tires. Also, the 1984 build year confirms this. IF it has an A1 data plate, that just means they used one when they overhauled it. I am pointing this so you get the info correct on the title...unless you...
Just to speak out to defend those who have pointed out the negatives...imagine what might happen if no one did so. This guy explained that he made two unsafe moves...first driving a truck out that he knew nothing about (both in operation and because of its maintenance history). Second, he...
Since it was not stock per se, there is no standard location to my knowledge. I would suggest either on the front headboard or or the tailgate, but the rack and tools may interfere with the cargo cover tie down points.
