Does anyone have a Dana 60 spindle and lock nuts/retainer for sale ? I was driving my M1031 today and the Right front wheel locked up. Didn't really give any warning. I did not repack the front wheels when I got the truck. I should have. I did check the truck about a month ago for any...
One thing I found in my axle swaping quest was -
Most crew cab 20 series Chevy trucks (3/4 tons) if not all from the 80's have the same spring perch width and shock mount as 1 ton trucks. Don't know if this helps, but it might help some one out in a future search.
I'll share my story on exploding batteries, I work with electronic natural gas meter correcting devices. I was doing work for a company nearby, testing units in their shop.
Their guys were bringing the units out of the field to the shop and setting them on the floor until I could get to them...
82/83 trucks have two spin on filters. The first filter is on the firewall - same location as the box filter on the newer trucks. The fuel is filtered before the fuel pump on the 82/83. Then there is a smaller spin on located on the rear of the intake manifold -after the Fuel pump (lift pump)...
Mark, Would it work for me to bring those brackets to Aberdeen ? I'll be there Friday. I'll be removing them after supper tonight. Thanks for being patient.
I know what you mean about drilling extra holes. I used the same thing on the back of my M1031 Contact Maint Truck. Before that I had it mounted on the tailgate. Funny thing there is - The bolts that hold the tailgate together are spaced properly for the license plate. The only reason I...
Gerry,
A quick check I do when having problems with a 6.2 is look at the Injector pump return check valve. You didn't say what year it is, you did say it had a new IP So this may be a waste of time, but it only takes 5 min. 1985 and older 6.2 s have a retainer that breaks down and plugs the...
I'm looking for 3 or 4 sets of the tubes where the shackles mount. Don't need the shackles just the tubes where they mount. I would like to set up some of my non MV trucks so I can use my MV Towbar. How many do you have and price ?
Thanks
One other thing to add - You could always estimate the amount of fluid you need for a fill, and add it through the vent tube until you can deal with the stuck plug.
I had the same thing happen on one of my civilian trucks. I tried hitting it with a hammer - Punches, chiesels, easy outs and nothing worked. The plug seemed really soft. I used my mig welder and an old bolt. Stuck the bolt into the square opening welded it and turned it out. The heat from...
Not trying to hijack a thread here. Why can't you slave start a truck with the GP resistor bypassed ? One of my trucks was bypassed by the military. When I picked it up GL Slave started it and I loaded it on my trailer. PLMK Thanks
kjasdaddy did you ever get this problem resolved, or does anyone else have any Ideas ?
I have the same problem. The truck acts as if the blackout light switch is in the off position. I did pop out the blackout light switch and it seems to check out ok with my tester. The headlights were on and...
A small ratchet strap hooked to the grille guard in combination with a high lift jack or even an old bumper jack works excellent to keep the tow bar at the right height to hook up. You can make small height adjustments that way.
