My death wobble (and now I know why it is called death wobble) was a loose front wheel bearing. Someone installed the wrong locknut retainer, it didn't work and filled the hub assembly with metal shavings. New bearings, races, and seal it is like another truck...
One of my civi 6.2 's did something that sounds similar. (Heavy knock/Black Smoke) It was an intermittent thing. I figured it must be an Injector or IP. I didn't do anything to fix it and it has not done it for 15,000 miles.
I have hauled to(2) M105 trailers on an 18' trailer. I had the M105 trailer tongues to the rear of the trailer to make it easier to unload when I got back. The second trip I had the rear trailer tongue stick out the back a bit (put a red flag on it) so I could keep everything back to reduce...
I would also suggest repairing the battery box first. Next I would clean every contact you can (battery, terminal ends, where the terminal ends and cable go together if universal type) make sure the cables are clean and tight at the junction points on the firewall behind the battery and at the...
Hey stonepicker1, I wanted to see what gear ratio/tire size/transmission you have in your CUCV. I would like to get a little more speed out of my M1008 and still be able to tow. Thanks
My latest GL encounter with the main office was this: I went to log onto my account and found it to be frozen. I think What gives ? I call to get a snippy answer that I had not paid for a lot I had won.
I had called prior to bidding and stated I would pay for the auctions with a wire...
The 700r4 is not that fun of a swap with the 1031's PTO powered Generator.
I have also been thinking of a gear swap on a 1031 for more speed using the stock tires.
That's a full size Bronco in the picture. The Bronco II just like about everything else some people swear by them, some people swear at them. I would be a swear at them.
It sounds like air getting into the fuel system. My M1008 seems to do the same thing. If it sets for a few days it will crank over and almost start right away, then you have to crank and crank to get it to take off again. If it runs two days in a row. It fires right up. I am going to check mine...
I've switched between std and gear reduction starters before and used the same mounting bolts. Would be best to have new ones. The only differences I found was the support bracket and the battery cable stud is slightly larger.
Can anyone tell me the weights of a few items ?
What does a M105a2 trailer bed weigh ?
M116a2 ? Just the trailer no generator.
M103a3 ? Just the trailer no generator.
Thanks in advance.
Should be a good truck. I picked up a 1031 at Mechanicsburg in December. I have not put mine on the road yet, but it started with a jump at the lot. I see my driveshaft is bent also. I couldn't find anything else wrong with it. It has around 11,000 miles. I have used the generator a few...
