Yep, that one. You should have +12 on the Pink/Black and when you ground the Light Blue the relay should close. Check Fuse #17, 20 amp fuse

Do you have 12 volts on the Pink/Black wire that goes to the other small terminal on the relay? If not, them you may have a blown fuse in the fuse box. Should be fuse #17

Your way is fine. In all actuality it is a full proof way to ensure the that the GP under test is actually functioning properly. The ohm test is a good first "Go or No Go" test. If it's high resistance or open it probably is defective. After the ohm test it would be a good idea to put the GP...

Positive to terminal, negative to the metal part that threads in to the block.

I put them on to aid with troubleshooting. A quick glance at it will visually confirm certain functions. Saves time and effort trying to get a volt meter up under the dash.

The GPD3.1 cards have a few minor engineering changes that are not on the previous cards. Otherwise they look and function the same. Yes you can still easily add a manual back up momentary switch to the GPD3.1 card.
