Addendum 1/3/21: While we are anticipating the event will happen at this point we are asking everyone wishing to attend to fill in an application and sent it in. The address is on the application. We think it would be better to hold off on any payments until the March '21 time frame when we...
TM 9 2320-280-20-2 section 6 has the complete proceedure for replacing the hub seals. Download it if you don't have it and you can print out pages 6.13 to take into the shop.
I just posted this on the G503 site and thought it might be a fitting addition to SS for all those New-to-Me HMMWV owners.
This is one of the circuits in the HMMWV that is probably the most misunderstad because it works backwards from what your common sense tells you. The gold colored valve is...
The easiest thing to do is to break the #11A lead to the START / RUN switch with another simple switch that can be placed almost anywhere. It could be just a toggle switch or a key switch in an out of the way location. I've seen them placed in a panel to the left of the dash, in the hole where...
My advice to you would be to ride over to Barstow and look at the truck your interested in before bidding. The folks at Yermo will be happy to talk to you and let you know what they found when they inspected it. They generally do a visual inspection first and if it's missing parts it goes into...
This is a thermostatic clutch out of an old Cadillac that I adapted to the HMMWV pulley. I cut off the 4 tabs on the front of the pulley and then put a 1" piece of 1/2" conduit into the center to co-locate the 2 pieces. It eliminates the fan clutch nuisance.
When you post something like this it will help us help you by including the year and model of your truck. In the section above "if you need it it's here" you can download the schematics for the truck in TM 9 2320-280-20-3. They're in the back of the TM. These trucks are 98% the same...
I have a Dixson Instruments model 540G1-47302 tachometer that appears identical in size (3-3/8") to the standard HMMWV tach and is marked for use on 24 volt systems. What concerns me is the label is marked "4 cyl". The terminal strip on the back is labeled + and - and then the center 2 teminals...

I found a couple of the unique multipin connectors used to supply control and power to the VSS searchlights. I only found the male connectors and thought I'd see if anyone needs one. Please contact me via PM if you do.

Yes, since it goes into the water passage in the block. Get your new switch ready to go before you remove the old one since your going to lose coolant when you do. That way you can do a fast swap out.
Don't fool around with your starter bolts! Replace them if they show any wear. Dave Walker at Walker Truck Parts in Hesperia, Ca has a kit for $10. He has them listed on Ebay also.
Something to keep in mind is that the taillights on military vehicles ground thru both of the mounting bolts. That means they both need to be clean of corrosion and tightened properly. There may or may not be a link between them. Since the HMMWV body is an unreliable ground AMG included ground...
Learned from experience that this sender being broken opens up the IP to dump fuel when first started giving you excessive white smoke until the engine starts to warm up.
#414 is AUX. GEN. VOLTAGE CONTROL RHESOTAT TO VOLTAGE REG.
#57 is INSTRUMENT PANEL GROUND
Nice LED but I don't think it's for a HMMWV originally. Could you post a picture of the front?
