i am not sure but on some of the yanmar engines there is a port in the head you put a small amount of oil in as a cold start aid. could the yellow cap be this??? in reading the above thread they all say to fill to the bottom two threads in the port in the engine block and to ignore the dipstick.
I changed my post to be more helpful. sorry try this link it has some download manuals that are very helpful

let me rephrase myself. GuyFang is correct to suggest only fix a problem if you have one and the only problem you may have is a faulty gauge, and they commonly are faulty. but if your engine is "hunting" then your frequency will not be steady and will raise when the RPM raises and lower when the...
i think you need to check your governor droop settings. there is a spring and a set screw under the cooling shroud above the oil filter. the adjustment procedure is in the TM
i think your governor is "HUNTING"
please don't kill yourself with your generator. if noise is the problem what i did was i took three 4x8 pieces of OSB board and two 2x4 studs i backset the 2x4 and screw them to two edges of one sheet of osb.that gives me an edge of 1.5 inches on each side. i also purchased 4 5 foot steel fence...
don't have one but did work around the Grove civi version. we called it a cherry picker more so than a crane but used inside of its tipping radius and load rating very handy. just be careful swinging with a load from over end to the side.
OK Thanks. if i would have guessed i would have said it was the control end. good info to know. so the fire was on the right side of the engine then. something else i noticed is the aux fuel pump is brand new and so is the steel fuel line from it. could that be the source of fuel maybe on the...
i am not sure what side is the right side but your explanation could very well be what happened because it must have had some personnel close and with an extinguisher close. it couldn't have burned for very long, maybe a few seconds. the fire was contained to the fuel pump side of the engine.
after closer examination i think my generator has been on fire. it looks like the positive battery cable that runs across to the other battery must have shorted to the frame. when the cable arced i think it severed the fuel line and then the fuel pump fed the fire for a short period of time. i...
well i put the fluke on it today after letting it run about ten min and it was charging 27.6 volts and the meter on the panel lowered to +10 amps so i guess everything is OK. also the battery registered 13.6 volts during the test.
