Nice! I've been waiting to get an hx35w on my m1009 for a while now and every time I think I can park it long enough to do it, something comes up where I need the ol' girl.
A friend used to have a 4 door Jeep JK and I noticed he had bought some decent looking grab handles for cheap so I bought the same ones for like $10-15. I just screwed them into the sheet metal above the passenger door. Wife uses it.
A bottle jack between the frame and tire with a block of wood up against the tire was always my method if dropping it down on the jack or rolling back and forth didn’t work. Be sure to keep the lug nuts half on because it’ll pop pretty good.
Looks are subjective with those lights. They remind me of something a kid in high school would put on his civic.
You can purchase nice hella brand glass housings (under $50) that use HB2 style replacement bulbs inside (55w). I wouldn’t use them without a relay harness though.
They’re on eBay for $5 plus $4 shipping. Took seconds to find. I can send you the link if you’d like.
heres a part number to get you what you need via eBay. C738703
It certainly has some decent upgrades on it. I'd personally swap for a turbo LS setup over the 454. Can make more power for probably what you can sell that big block for and get double digit mpg's. 4l80e would also be a nice upgrade. Any pics of the whole truck?
I find 4” and 33” tires to be way too tall but I guess it’s all in personal tastes. I thought my 2” lift with 33” was too tall so I swapped to 35” tall tires.
also chances are that rough country kit will ride harsh compared to springs from tuff country (who also makes their stuff in the USA)...
That thing sticks out pretty far compared to a stock bumper. I’d think you’d have to cut and weld the brush guard on top of there to get it placed the correct amount from the grille.
Without seeing the shape and design of the bumper you have it’s very hard to know if it’ll work without major fabrication. If it mimics the stock bumper in a thicker plate then I’m sure with some work it’ll fit.
I chose to install a winch behind the stock bumper instead and with a plate...
I had 33” tires with stock axles for quite a while off-roading and daily driving and never once had an issue. My original plan was to find a semi-float 14 bolt in 6 lug and then re gear the front to match whatever I got for the rear. It’s half the headache and can reuse your wheels. You get a...
I didn’t realize you were in Grand Junction. I’m in Denver. Going up i70 I’ve only ever been to Georgetown but can’t say I’ve overheated, I’ve had my gauge read about 200 though on the longer climbs. One of these days I’ll test it out heading over vail pass.
The closest I’ve ever gotten to even proper operating temps is long extended climbs in the mountains at 60+mph.
Theres certainly something mechanically wrong here.
