Is this worth getting?! Junkyard Find

I’d buy any gm front Dana 60 if I had the chance for the right price.

secret kill switch - security - discourage possible theft?

Steering wheels are incredibly easy to cut FYI. It’ll deter someone without any cutting tools but small pocket size bolt cutters will go right thru a wheel

Cracked a TH400 case and support brackets with a NP205

Interesting. My m1009 doesn’t have any support rods to speak of.

    Tire Question

I mean you can get whatever wheels you want, they just need the correct backspacing/offset. My 8” wheels are 4.5” bs. I wish I could fit 5”

    Tire Question

Is it possible to post pictures of the fitment of them? I assume they stick out quite a bit to be able to rub. I had to cut my fenders pretty extensively to fit my tires, but they’re 35x12.5x16 and I went with the most backspacing as possible to get them to tuck under the bodywork when flexing...

    Tire Question

You can modify the body to suit the wheels or the better solution is different wheels. The stock wheels work well in that they have a zero offset (if I remember correctly).

    Tire Question

I’m going to venture a guess your backspacing is far too low and it’s hitting the cab side of the openings? With stock wheels and stock height I was running 33x12.5x15 and only rubbing full lock while flexing to the bump stops off road. On road and even mild trail nothing rubbed.

    Tire Question

Your first post is conflicting. Is this an m1008 or m1009?

M1031 Contact Maintenance Truck Arctic heater install

I sold my kit with a few extras (no wood insulation, just heater parts) and it was 200lbs to ship it. Not light by any means.

Does the Injector Pump account for elevation changes?

I was speaking of my cucv, zero experience with Ford diesels

Does the Injector Pump account for elevation changes?

With the turbo it’s not a complete turd, but my dd is a 6.0 2500hd so jumping back in the cucv is a lesson in patience going into the mountains. I may do some thicker head gaskets and studs then turn the boost up a bit more.

Does the Injector Pump account for elevation changes?

So basically how mine is is how it is. That’s fine I guess. Just smelly on trail sometimes.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

5 years does not seem that long to me. Must just be humidity. My Buick sat for over 12 and just very recently started up with a fresh battery. Even ran on the sta-bil filled fuel from the day it was parked.

6.5 turbo intake on NA 6.2

The air cleaner hole is at least 5” in diameter. It’s been a while since I’ve had one. I can measure my old one in the morning. also that 2.5” is the ID of the coupler from the turbo to the inlet so the ID of the inlet is smaller than that.

6.5 turbo intake on NA 6.2

A 6.5 turbo 2 piece intake manifold will bolt right on however I think it would severely choke your NA engine. The inlet is like 2.5” in diameter.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

I’m not sure that would help the rings at all. I’ve always heard either completely filling an engine with oil or pouring it into the combustion chamber and periodically turning it over to help with that. edit: I was thinking about this last night, do you think fluid film sprayed into the...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

I’m sure it will but there’s a hole at the bottom where the bottom bolt is (along with one on each side) and it’s primarily big rocks here vs mud so not super worried about it.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Yep that’s the theory. I’ve hit my pumpkin a few times offroad so I figured I’d attempt not to bust a U joint if I could. It’s from ruffstuff specialities.
